For what it's worth, I've been playing the Mustang with its new tremolo arm for the last few days, and I think it sits way too high in the rocker bar. I also have a Bigsby B5 on my SG Classic; the arm sits much lower and is easier to access compared to the Mustang trem arm. I'm planning to use a hac...

How to secure a floppy tremolo arm to a Fender Mustang?

I have a modern 1965 Fender Mustang RI. It was missing the tremolo arm, so I ordered an official Fender replacement part. The new arm does *not* have any threads, and the rocker it fits into is not threaded, either. As a result, the tremolo arm flops down when it's not in use. I'd like to rig up som...

Well, someone on HC said the necks can be swapped around so I'm gonna give it a shot next time I change strings. Nuttin' to lose, I figure.

I love my Classic Player Jaguar Special HH. Now I'm wishing I had $2.8K for the Johnny Marr signature Jaguar. I just bought a 65RI Mustang and I really like it, but the Jaguar just seems to fit better and give me the tones I want.

Are Jaguar & Mustang necks interchangeable?

I've got a 65RI Mustang with a 7.25" radius neck and a Classic Player Jag Special HH with a 9.5" radius.

Just curious whether these two necks are interchangeable. The next time I swap strings, it might be fun to swap necks assuming that the neck pockets are the same on both guitars.

I'm of the opinion that pretty much *any* guitar looks cool when it's standing up against an old, weathered fence or wooden wall with crumbling paint.

Man, that orange is sexy!

Jaguar? Mustang? Something else? Color scheme? We need details. Otherwise, it's as if you said: "Hey guys! I just bought a gas guzzling muscle car!"

Thanks, guys! Well, Phase 1 of the mission is accomplshed. He won first place in his Language Arts class for his "poem" and now he's into the finals with five other 7th graders. The finals are tomorrow in the library. :)

If he wins, he'll get a plaque plus bragging rights.

Thanks, man. We had fun making the video. But each minute of video translates to 1.5 hours of work! We were up late.

Vid of my kid jammin' wit my 'Stang

Just made this tonight with my youngest kid for a school assignment that's due tomorrow.

He did his own take on David Bowie's version of The Pixies "Cactus" using my new Fender Mustang 65RI and my 1965 Ampeg Gemini I amp.

Why would you use a heavy bottom set if your aim for easy bends is something where you only bend the 3 bottom (aka heavy) strings, and all at once?
Why? Because apparently I am a dumb ass!

My package of goodies arrived from Music123.com today. I cut off the 10-52's as fast as I could. I used the opportunity to tighten up my '65RI Mustang tremolo springs by moving them up the tension post. This was not easy to do. I had to use some pliers in my left hand and a dull chisel in my right h...

I hate 10-52's on my Mustang

It's official. I HATE 10-52's on my new Mustang and on my CP Jaguar HH, too. Can't wait to cut off the D'addario 10-52's and replace them with normal strings. I've got some 9's and 10's on the way (Gibson Brite Wires) and they can't get here soon enough. My litmus test for bendability is Nirvana's &...

That's so cool that your son is working towards a guitar he really wants. Good for him! When we left the shop he said, "Don't feel bad about comparing the Cobain Mustang to your new 65 Reissue, Dad. Because there's one thing I didn't t like about the Cobain Stang." I said "Oh, what's...

I've been trying out D'addario 10-52's on my new '65RI...but I have to say that I'm having second thoughts. The next time I swap strings, I think I'll put on some Gibson 10-46 Brite Wires for comparison.

I'm really bonding with this guitar. LOVE the neck, too! Finally, after 3 guitars (4 if I count my acoustic) I have a neck that just seems to fit. My 13 year old son also really likes this little Mustang. A day after I bought it, we visited Bellevue American Music, a high-end shop on the Eastside. T...

Well, I picked it up on Friday (without a trem arm, btw, so sorry if you voted "Yep", cause your score on http://ipredikt.com will go down). Restrung it yesterday with 10-52's, and took some pictures of it today. Love this thing. The cleans are really chimey and twangy. It's pretty much im...
