Not sure if bassists are allowed, but mine's a Hartke LH500 through a pair of 2x15s

+1 on Hartke. My live rig is an LH500 running through a pair of 2x15s and i couldnt be happier. LH500/1000 are great deals. Simple, rackmountable, reliable, and cheap. Good clean/old school vibe. Beyond that, you really cant go wrong these days with something from Markbass, SWR, Mid to high end Ampe...

So twist the shielding and the braid together, solder the red to the main Gibson wire, and solder the green & white together right?

Edit: Nevermind, instead of patching to the old wire ill go strait to the pots....so the braid is ground and the center is red..i think i got it...

Mage, I love that beat up P Bass. Even though I'm more of a Jazz guy nothing beats a torn up P for just about anything...

The lead guitarist in my band has a late model Gibson V that I just put a DiMarzio Evo II in. Not only is it sexy but it sounds amazing now to boot. Can't say I cared much for the stock pickups though. I definitely prefer it to the pointier ones though.

As someone mentioned above, ogg and flac are ideal, but they still aren't really mainstream yet. Your best bet is .wav

I know its a long long long shot but maybe an Ampeg pedal???
