Look like it's based on the hinese copies you find on AliExpress.
They have Red and Black, also.

If it's a 50's maple board with a gold guard, and it's painted red, it is most likely a refinished body.
If it is an original red, it's worth much more money and is extremely rare.

Beautiful guitar and great playing. I like the way you used the echo. I just got a Catalinbread Echorec and I'm still figuring it out.
You have nice taste in Guitars.
I have 3 Coronados.

'66 Mustang restored by my g/f. Back to original Dakota Red.

This is a 9/66 Mustang that had the yellow paint DEEP into the wood, drover her crazy getting it out. The owner bought an original guard, and a set of matched Lollar pickups were used. Luckily, all but 1 of the original screws were put back into the holes! Dawn mixed the Dakota Red Nitro lacquer and...

They came in a few colors. A brass rail down the middle of the fingerboard that the frets were pressed into.
Semie was after the most sustain he could find.

1969 Competition Orange pair.

I got the Guitar in 1982, the Bass in 1986. Bass is Feb '69, one of the first I believe, because the stripes are slightly thinner than what was used later. It still has beer stains on it (smelled like an old bar when I got it) that I will never clean off. Had no case. Guitar is April '69. I was stan...

Fender never did anything starting on a "day", so the possibility of a contoured R/W/B Mustang sounds much more likely than ever seeing a Slab Competition.

BUT REMEMBER THIS RULE:
Fender made 1 of everything.

Here's a very YELLOW Mustang for you. Chopped down guard.

My g/f restores guitars and recently took this one in to bring back to life. (Although I kinda like it) September '66 that was painted YELLOW and had about as much of the guard cut out as you lose and have it hold everything. The good thing was that the old screws were put back into the holes. Has t...

Coro colors

I have seen other Red to Balck "Antiguas". None had the matching headstock like an Antigua. You will also see a "Candy Apple Red Metallic Burst" often. To cover the marks, they sprayed Inca Silver on the rims, edges, and around the FHoles, then used the standard see-through Cherr...

"The seller claimed it to be an early 67 but the black centred pickup covers might nott match up to that, though to be honest he might be right because I don't know when they changed from all chrome." From what I have seen over the year, the cover change was about May of 1967...but like ev...
