I've used DR's for years after a bass player of mine got me into them. I agree with the others in that I can't give a good reason to use them other than that they just feel better, but I don't think people who swear by Slinky's or D'Addario's are using any harder science than that.

Fairly personal new song

Just re-recorded this tune I wrote for my sister, who would be 27 today. She passed away 2006. Kind of a different sound for us.

Thanks to all who are listening! So that's me playing guitar and singing lead on the track. Since I my guitar rig was ss.org appropriate I'd like to share it: Guitars - Fender mustang, 1966, little 59'er in bridge + Rickenbacker 360 (on loan, sad to have to give it back) Amps - 50w JCM 800 with the ...

+ 1 for the carbon copy. I have one myself and love it. Absolutely huge delay in a small, convenient box.

Just wanted to give an update on this. Thanks again for all the helpful info. I sold the big box holy grail and bought a nano-version for the same price (lucky me). You guys were totally right about the power supply issue. I now use the nano daisy-chained thru the onespot with no hum! Will have to p...

Hiwatt Bob wrote:What power supply are you using?
Great question. I'm using a one-spot. From what I've read the one-spot can be noisy, but after I remove the Grail the noise is gone.

I do have the original power supply, tho, so I will give that a try.

Holy Grail = Un-Holy Noise?

So I just got a Holy Grail, pre-nano version like so http://www.centralmusic.com/products/photos/2040.jpg While I love the sound of the effect, the pedal is extremly noisy. There is a high pitched buzz/whine that is constantly present even when the pedal is turned off. I tried different patch cords,...

I'm so glad someone noticed / liked the jazz hands! I have a joke about jazz hands that precedes this one, so that's why I'm doing it.

sigh, their instruments are awesome but god I hate this band. They sound like long-form commercial jingles to me, just so bland and neutered. I imagine someone holding a bottle of Crest to the screen during the middle of one of these.

That being said, the mustang bass in clip 2 is sick.
