Re: Reverb you bitch!!!

Nice, I almost grabbed one of these from one of those crazy proaudiostar sales for $280 or whatever they were. Still kicking myself a little for not dewing it. Ultimately decided humbuckers and a hardtail wasn't my thing if I was going to have a Jag, but it's also perfect for those same reasons. lel...

Doesn’t feel cursed haha.

A few more shots. I love all the subtle details - everything adds up to feeling like a much more premium guitar for this price, although I guess it was one of their more budget friendly/barebones offerings back in the day.

NGD - 1980 Takamine C-128 Classical

Randomly stopped at Guitar Center on my way home Saturday. I've been looking for a "nice" classical for a while, but I'm usually put off by the local used offerings in my budget for various reasons, and something about buying the nicest new Cordoba I can afford just feels contradictory to ...

Nice, what neck/pickup did you use, and adding anything to the plate or leaving it blank?

It warms my heart that bargains are still there to be had.

Re: NGD - 1965 Gibson TG-0

At first I was like, well I'm sure $25 for anything Gibson is a steal, but is a banjo or what. But then I watched this video and it actually sounds pretty cool. That was my reaction buying it - I've missed having a nice old acoustic since selling my Guild G37, and while part of me would have loved ...

NGD - 1965 Gibson TG-0

Well...I wasn't expecting to find this yesterday at a yard sale. It was in a very unassuming chipboard case, stood on its side. The kind of case that usually contains, at best, a 50's/60's Harmony/Silvertone, if not a beat up 80's import guitar with a twisted neck, or nothing at all inside. $25 stic...

Re: NGD: Line 6 Variax 300

Nice, I almost grabbed one from my local store, they've had two for under $300 each in the past year or so - they're stupid fun for the money but all kind of uggo so I passed.

Re: new tom delonge starcaster controversy

True mall punks would buy a Squier affinity Starcaster for $200, rip out all but the bridge volume and splice a Duncan invader in with electrical tape, then spray paint a bunch of brown all over it randomly like Delonge’s moon dust guitar.

Way more cred.

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

I strongly considered messaging plops about the bridge plate, I prefer it aesthetically, I just can’t bring myself to go back to 3 saddles when 6 saddle options anre available (did the same with my thinline Tele build) And I also like the yellow painted bridge on that Mustang bass, it’s so hilarious...

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

God damn, I actually love the black-on-yellow colour scheme. This is my first time seeing it! If they made a shortscale bass in this scheme (Mustang, Bronco, whatever, I'm not fussy) then I'm afraid I would immediately be £200 poorer. To be honest it wasn’t my original plan but the black is really ...

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

This was waiting for me after work, 4 days late with a big hole in the box. It’s nice tho and didn’t have any issues. Initial impressions are great! Neck feels nice, smooth skunk stripe, pale olive ass laurel fretboard. Comfortable profile with satin finish. No sharp fret edges. Paint is smooth, the...

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

I caved and just snagged a yellow one from Guitar Center for $160 http://andertons-productimages.imgix.net/0373651574-FSR-Squier-Sonic-Mustang-Electric-Guitar-in-Graffiti-Yellow-Hero.png Plan to use it as a learning project, finishing the neck properly and routing it for Mustang switches (hopefully ...
