Sorry, but I don't llike the tiny (compared to a regular Tele) body. I'll stick with my 60s Baja Tele, thank you very much!

Killer deal on a modern classic, congrats! I remember playing these back in '98-'99-ish, at Mars Music, ironically. Loved them, but couldn't afford one. I'd still like to have one some day, but as you know, the originals are hard to find, and usually pricey...around $7-800 in good condition. I want...

I've never seen one of these in person; I'm assuming its like a Gibson bolt-on with a comfortable body.
Yep, they original series ones are kind of rare. And yes they sort of are like a Gibson, due to their scale length being 24.75".

Belated NGD - It's a Toronado

From mid 1999- late 2000, I had a 1999 candy apple red Toronado (I bought it at the now defunct Mars Music). It sounded and played great. Unfortunately, due to a money crunch in late 2000, brought on by me foolishly lending a former friend nearly $2000 (she was in a bind, and promised to pay me back...

These are on my Jag:

They sound good, and I like the feel I get from them playing-wise.

On my Jaguar - Dese! http://www.daddario.com/resources/jdcdad/images/products/da_prod_EJ21_main_2.jpg Oh! I forgot!, I have a new Jag (the CIJ Thinline Jag didn't cut it for me, and IMO it was too nice and too rare to mod with different pickups, so it was traded towards a Ric 360 that was available ...

Ahhh, I don't know. I have mixed feelings about the Venuses. For me, 12-string electrics are kind of one-trick ponies. And while I've had low level GAS for a couple of local 6-string Venuses, that were up for sale, I will admit, that despite being Vista Series guitars, they were a little overpriced ...

Thanks again guys! :) I will have to listen. I am curious. I am also pretty burnt right now. Hell week. But if it rains all weekend I may do some soldering. I know the feeling. I ended up having to go into to work yesterday morning for a few hours. As a result of not enough sleep (I'm usually up for...

Thanks guys! Sorry about the clunkers in the clip. But it was late (going on 10 PM, and I'd been up since 4:30 AM), when I finally got things done. I may try bending the shielding claws away from the pickups a little, to see if it decouples them from the pickups. Thankfully the problem is nowhere ne...

OK, I'm done recording a sound clip of my Thinline Jag. Some listening notes: 1. Recording gear used - Audacity recording software, with an old semi-cheap Realistic knock-off of a Shure SM58 (I wish I hadn't given away my REAL SM58 back in 2002 :( ) 2. Amp - early 90s Peavey Solo Series Bandit 112 (...

Yes, I'm Finally Recording Thinline Jag Clips - Need Input

Hi Everybody, It's been a while (like a good month or so), since I last posted. At that time, I had picked up one of the limited edition Thinline Jaguars. I promised that I'd record some tracks of the guitar. Well, life intervened. Work got crazy (to the point that I was too burned out to even do mu...

Why 9s? They feel like rubber bands on a 24" scale guitar. I went the exact opposite of you, with my Jags - up to 12s.

Not really sure - about 7 or 8 lbs. It feels a bit lighter than my CP or my 66 Reissue were.

Well, I re-strung the guitar last night, and IMO, it significantly improved things both playability-wise, and sound-wise. The playing feel is nice and taut. As for the sound - it was late when I finished up (almost 9:30 PM), but I spent about 20 minutes before bedtime, playing the Jag, to help break...

'Taint no way, that the CIJ, J Mascis Jazzy is worth $850, considering how dinged up it is, and has a lame-o JB Weld repair. I see it sold at the price. Whoever bought it is either clueless about the value of a VERY used J Mascis Jazzmaster, or desperately wants that guitar.

Probably, but I was willing to take a hit value-wise on trading in gear, to get this guitar.

Thanks guys! :) Tonight I'm putting the 12s on my Jag. It'll not only play better, but have a bit more punch note attack-wise. Unlike other Jags I've owned in the past, I have this terrible urge to play "Pipeline" with the guitar! Maybe it's due to the fact that of all of the Jags I'...
