Thanks, benecol. Anyone else agree that the AVRI necks are slimmer for either Jags or Jazzy's? If the strat neck fits that would be great since I know I already like that neck. If enough of you agree on the AVRI then I will commence charging up the funds.

Jazzmaster masters, some neck questions for you.

First question is about neck thickness. I have a MIJ Jaguar whose neck is noticeably thinner (more comfortable for me) than the CIJ and MIM Jaguar necks, which are rounder and more hand-filling ime. I've not played an AVRI, but if you know where this might fit in than I'd like to know. My MIJ and CI...

haha, glad to be of service! But nice snag there, what exactly is wrong with it? No signal from the output jack. The slots at the nut are placed too far to the bass side. Should be easy fixes. Also, 22.5" is fucking small. Did these Mexican reissues come in 24" too, or no? Well if it's to...

I actually picked it up. Had to pay $60 for it though. If it makes you feel any better it doesn't work and needs a new nut, which hopefully I'll have time to address those things this weekend.

Plus the Jag-Stang was never really "reissued" as such, they just made a second run. "Original" and "Reissue" are terms normally only used by eBay sellers trying to make the big bucks on their "Original" Jag-Stangs. Aside from the differences in the MIJ and C...

Mustangs/Jagstangs that don't have vintage sized frets?

Are there any iterations of these guitars that have something bigger than the small vintage-sized frets? I think the original Jagstangs had jumbo frets and the reissues have vintage frets? Is that right? What about the Mustang? I'm sure all the US originals have the smaller frets, but are there any ...

What gave it away that it wasn't basswood? Was it the grain? Weight? I have alder and basswood guitars, and, acoustically at least, the alder guitars are louder and have more bass and overtones. This seems to hold true for the Vista JM's I've got here, one blue and one burst, though I've yet to set t...

Vista Sunburst Jagmaster: alder or basswood?

Sorry if this has been covered before. I tried searching and couldn't find the answer. I know with the MIJ/CIJ Jaguars that a lot of the solid-colored ones are basswood, the exception being that sunburst Jags were always alder. Does the same apply to the Vista Jagmasters? Here's a thread at offsetgu...
