Re: Octave Up recommendations
I bought a Sub 'n' Up a couple of years ago to replace my Mooer Pure Octave which had shit the bed. Admittedly I use the octave down more than the octave up, but I do use the octave up occasionally and I can say with confidence that the accuracy/tracking is way, way better on the TC pedal. Especiall...

Re: pictures of your guitars here
Woah, weird! I modded a Vintage SG in almost the exact same way several years back. It now belongs to my pal Marcus, as seen in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jywW83Hj7iw Momentarily I thought he must have sold it to you, before I realised yours is a Westfield! If I remember rightly, thi...

Markbass MB Yellow Little Bass?
Somehow I had only played fullscale basses (since 2004!!) until I bought my Ibanez TMB-30 a couple of years ago, and (duh) it turns out that as a tiny man I'm way better at playing bass when I can actually reach all the frets. Anyway, I've been keen on getting hold of something more Fender-y now I'm...

Re: new tom delonge starcaster controversy
It's definitely overpriced (what signature model isn't, in fact what Fender model in general isn't??) but I've gotta say I do actually like this visually. Also, not convinced Rawbro has a leg to stand on when it comes to criticising someone for doing the exact same mods on all their guitars regardle...

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?
I love everything about it, looks-wise, including the cheddar cheese bridge. Just don't think a partscaster from an "unknown builder" is worth £300.
If it's still unsold in a couple of months I might offer £180.

Very unlikely to actually go for this (unless the seller is prepared to settle for a hilariously lowball offer), but oh nooo: http://reverb.com/uk/item/78304305-mustang-bass-guitar-yellow http://rvb-img.reverb.com/image/upload/s--yF7aSRYr--/a_0/f_auto,t_supersize/v1705779865/j64itspz8cuf8sxzn73q.jpg

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?
God damn, I actually love the black-on-yellow colour scheme. This is my first time seeing it!
If they made a shortscale bass in this scheme (Mustang, Bronco, whatever, I'm not fussy) then I'm afraid I would immediately be £200 poorer.

This is coming together really nicely!
The recording in the original post is no longer available, but am I right in thinking it's the same singer as last time? Did you decide to stick with the one vocalist?

I can't remember what state this was in last time I posted it, but there's been a few reshuffles of late. Oh damn yeah I absolutely do this. Obsessively re-tuning after every song as well, although I'm trying to get out of that habit.

Re: Sans drummer help
Bluetooth would have too much latency, I imagine. Our drummer has a headphone click to keep in sync with our programmed synths/loops/samples/whatever, and that works nicely for us, but if the drummer is the robot element then it's tough to know who would benefit most from wearing headphones. And you...

Re: Guild Polara - anyone played one?
Generally a thinner body! That's why I love the Squier Affinity Tele so much (I have two of them), IIRC they're about 1/4 inch thinner than a standard Tele body.

Re: Guild Polara - anyone played one?
Interesting! I'm not too bothered either way about neck depth, honestly. How does the body thickness compare to a typical SG? That's more of a big deal for me.

Guild Polara - anyone played one?
I've been attempting to manoeuvre myself into a better financial situation, and in a couple of months I think I'll be in a position to splurge on some gear for the first time in ages . There's a few things I've got my eye on, and in most cases I feel pretty confident about what I want/need. The one ...

I forgot you had that blue SG, it's gorgeous! Makes me regret selling my Epiphone EB-3 in the same colour. It was horrible to play though haha, it just looked great.

Re: AI Mastering
I wouldn't say it's like crossing the picket line, pretty much for the reasons you've pointed out (it'll sound "fine" but it won't have the finesse, similar to your haircut analogy) but it can certainly do the trick in a pinch. You're right that hiring a mastering engineer can feel kind of...
