The shape of the lower horn on his guitar closer resembles the Jet King than the ORM1 too. Perhaps some sort of prototype before he bursts out a new model with the new Mars Volta Album?

The Thunder 30 is the replacement model for the Rocker 30. The latter has now been discontinued but you still see them popping up on eBay from time to time. I have one and can vouch for them, amazing gain channel and a good clean channel(the clean channel just runs through the speaker and bypass' t...

I'm listening to the Dual Terror and Tiny Terror's on Youtube just now, and I really am digging the tone - so crunchy. I just wish they would put the housing around the head, It looks a little fragile. I'm going to head into town this week and try them out. It seems like a toss up between the TH30 a...

I have never played any of the Thunder series, so can't comment first hand but if I were to get a 30 watt Orange then the TH30 would be it. it is definitely more modern sounding than the AD series. I've got the Rockerverb 50 and it's probably the most versatile of the range but also has a price tag...

One of the great things about Orange amps is how good the master volumes are - I have no problem running my RV50 at bedroom volumes and it still sounding great. So to better help, a couple of questions: What style of music do you play? What bands are in that ballpark? What is your budget? Do you ha...

Orange Amps

Hey Shortscale, It's time for to purchase a new amp. I'd really like an Orange Amp because I like the size of the heads and cabs, and you can't beat that raw dirty tone they give. I don't really know much about the different models of head and cab. It would have to be suitable for bedroom use, but a...

Pedal Power Supply Help

Hey Shortscalers, I'm looking for a power supply to power my pedals. This is a bit of a grey area among guitarists and a lot of my guitarist pals don't know much about them :? I'm looking to buy one and I've been looking at this; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Soundlab-Quality-Output-Power-Connecting/dp/B0...

ah, i'd love a white one. i was surprised how well the headstock works with the body style. here's thoms original thread containing his thoughts. The white model is proper sexy too, but my Jag is white and I fancied a little change. Also thought it would have less of the 'Omar's signature guitar' c...

I had a Jet King and that thing was pretty heavy. How is this one? Could you concentric knob this thing out to have a tone knob? It's something that's definitely helped tame my Hello Kittycasters. Anyway, looks nice and lots of fun. The thing weighs an absolute ton!! It's about the same as my CIJ J...

My ORM-1 just arrived today, ebay purchase.

Hey guys. So the ORM-1 arrived today, and it's pretty fooking sweet. I've been wanting one of these since they came out. Considering the deal I got on it (£130) in mint condition, and the black colour is no longer in production, I'm over the moon. The guitar itself is tiny. My dad thought it was a ...

I agree, change the pots to lower value. I have a JB Jr in the bridge of my Jag and you really need to lower the pot value to go with it. Will switching the pots out effectivley give me the effect of turning the tone knob down? I've never been keen on the tone control on the Jag, it seems to just m...

It's partly to do with the 1meg pots in there which you could swap for a lower value for less shrillness. It's also largely to do with the bridge style which gives very little resonance or sustain compared to say, your PRS. I don't think you'll see any more change by swapping pickups again. Yeah I ...

JB JNR's in Jag

Yo Shortscale, I've had a CIJ Jag for a few years now, last year I installed a JB JNR in the bridge position so it could rock a little harder. I never noticed much difference in the tone of the guitar apart from there was no longer any horrible microphonic feedback (thank the lord). The tone still s...

The body being too big is just a small complaint of mine tbh. I still love my jag to bits, so I won't mind the jagmaster being this big.
