Re: Squier cv orange comp mustang
Just got it in. It is beautiful and the neck profile is great. Fretboard is really dry so needs some oil. Guessing its the pauo stuff (Didnt even look). But seems to play well without a setup. Need to get my head around the switches and everything as I have never owned a mustang. IN any case it wil...

Re: Soft Reboot of my Squier FSR Jaguar
Fender sound and feel for half the price. I see at *amber* people mod Squier Jags and JMs with top shelf parts, turning them into banging guitars Exactly. I also really like the Sparkle finish with the matching headstock. I fixed all my pickup issues last night (bad ground soldering on my part) but...

One of my ground Wires need the solder to be reflowed.
I am playing with pickup heights and dialing in everything.

Re: Soft Reboot of my Squier FSR Jaguar
Thanks.
I am getting some weird static-type sounds when I am on the lead circuit on both pickups. The static is not there on the rhythm Circuit or with other guitars.
I will pull off the switch panel tomorrow and make sure all the connections are solid.

Soft Reboot of my Squier FSR Jaguar
I picked up this Squier FSR Silver Sparkle Jaguar back in April. I had swapped out the Vibrato for an AVRI Vibrato and did a general setup. I decided the pickups were just not cutting it and purchased a set of EP Custom Jaguar pickups that came in today. I also wanted to change the overall look of t...

Re: Old Gretsch Synchromatic Junior Jet
One time I bought one at Guitar Center used for $250….it was the fancier red sparkle bigsby model with 2 pickups…might have been a thinline IIRC. I had some instant buyers remorse, especially since one of the tuner keys snapped off on the drive home, so I returned it. But it seemed a decent enough ...

Re: Squier cv orange comp mustang
Thanks. Will see how the bridge/etc is and if it needs updated. Im good with the color combo as it is for now.. how were the pickups? They were fine. I didn't feel a need to change them. I only changed out the Vibrato and kept the stock bridge. I was able to setup the guitar with .11s and the vibra...

Re: Squier cv orange comp mustang
I loved my regular CV Mustang when I had it.
I only sold it because I didn't care for the thin neck behind the 1st fret.
Replace the stock vibrato with a Fender one and get some black pickup covers and you are set.

Old Gretsch Synchromatic Junior Jet
Has any of you ever played or owned these guitars? There is one for sale for $130 locally. It' basically like a Gibson LP Junior style guitar with one pickup in the bridge. I have seen very little about these guitars on line. Some people love them and others say they are cheap plywood. It's a bolt o...

Re: Always on pedals, a popular option?
I usually will run my MBM Saltbooster to give my Fender guitars a lift. With the addition of the DECO, the tape saturation is another option I am exploring.

Re: Mustang Vibrato Guides?
I have successfully setup up two different Mustang Vibratos. One was my Vintage Partscaster, Sunbreather and my Squier Classic Vibe Mustang. I run .11s on my Mustangs but I can hopefully get you started and you tweak it for the .10s. I shimmed both necks to get the proper break angle. Here is kinda ...

Re: pictures of your gear here
Very nice, I always wanted to try the Deco. Board is looking great! Thanks. It's starting to become what I envisioned it to be. The Deco is really cool because it exists in the area between Flanger/chorus but before Delay. This pedal will do a 500ms delay but it works in that space that most delay ...

Re: pictures of your gear here
After waiting 3 weeks and my original pedal got lost in the mail (good job USPS), I finally got my hands on a used Styrmon Deco V1. I only have a few minutes with pedal but I am throughly impressed with it. The Saturation size is a fantastic overdrive/boost and the Double tracker can do Chorus/flang...

I always liked the Vintera I JM pickups. That's a great score.

Re: ...so shortscale don't talk about Vintera II?
I got to play the Vintera II Jazzmaster and Jaguar. The necks seemed less chunky compared to the Vintera I versions. I liked the Jazzmaster and the pickups were decent. It just needed a little setup and replace the bridge with Mustang bridge. The Jaguar was interesting. Maple fretboard on a Jaguar i...
