Conversion necks are an option. They make conversion necks that will have the shorter Jaguar scale "24" on a Full Scale body. The Squier Jagmaster (new ones) and the Squier CV Duo Sonic are examples of this. I don't know if there are conversion necks that will take a Short scale body and ...

1) If you bought a 25.5" scale neck for the Jaguar, you have to move bridge back so the distance from the nut to the Bridge is 25.5" I would attach the new neck and then measure 25.5" and move the bridge accordingly. If you don't move the bridge your intonation get's screwed up. 2) w...

Dustin is using warmoth neck and body and some parts and has Nash Guitars do the rest. The body is a jag body ith the bridge moved back for 25.5 scale. His switching I explained in this thread earlier This is probably gonna sound like a stupid question, but if I got a Warmoth neck for my Jaguar, I'...

Nash makes some bad ass guitars. Best looking relics next to Danocaster imo "Looking" being the key word. Judging from the Nash Teles I've played, that's what you're paying for. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y99/paulrus/thrice1.jpg That looks pretty badass. Where can you get a switchin...

Alright, I'll give it a go. As for putting the tele knobs on there, they'd just slide on, right?

Also, to save space for making another thread, how would I remove the white pickup covers for the Jag's pickups? I like the look of the black single coils more.

Changing Knobs on a Jaguar

I'm not a fan of the black knobs on my Jaguar and bought a set of tele style knobs to put on there. The guy at the music store I went to said that I needed to undo a screw on the knob to switch them out, but I don't see one on the side of the Jaguar's knobs. I was gonna just pull the knobs off, but ...

I own an 81 Ibanez P-bass that's got a really fat tone and I've kinda grown accustomed to it. However, I like the variety of tones that a Jazz bass can get due to the fact you've got two pickups to work with instead of one. Also, the neck is skinnier which makes it easier to play since my hands are ...

I like the sound of the original micro flanger, so if the reissue sounds pretty spot on then I may have to get one. I definitely agree that the micro flanger is very subtle and really musical and lush.

Thom's playing acoustic capo'd at the 3rd fret, Ed's playing an electric (a rickenbacker usually) capo'd and octave higher (15th fret), and he's using a bit of reverb. It's not really that hard of a sound to cop if you've got a rick and a capo, but anything single coil-ish would work.

Sorta off topic here, but is there an easy way to get a 3 way switch like that on my Jaguar? I love my Jag, but I really think a 3 way toggle like that would make my life easier.

Sounds like you need to file the nut deeper still...shouldn't be popping out at all. That's what I thought. The guys at the store I took it to I think thought it was enough, but quiet obviously it isn't. I guess I should have explain I liked to bend strings (shocking, I know). Guess I'll have to wa...

The bridge is no longer the issue, it's not just the G string popping out of the nut when I bend up a whole step between frets 2 and 4. How do I fix this?

I got the low E string to stop popping out of the saddle. I brought my guitar in for a setup and the guy who does the setups cut a square sized piece of pick and put it under the saddle, effectively raising it up so I can finger pick to my heart's content without any problems. However, I also upped ...

The drum loops actually sound pretty good. I've got a friend who does a lot of metal/post-hardcore recordings and he's using the metal drum pack from GarageBand and his tracks sound almost pro level, and he's not using the most high end of gear or recording in the most ideal room (a dorm room).

It's already got the normal Mustang Bridge on it. Would the modified Mustang bridge mess with the guitar at all?

How high should I raise the bridge, and how do you shim the neck? I don't know what shimming is.

Jaguar String Popping + Intonation

The low E string on my Jaguar keeps popping out when I finger pick. Also, when I play chords above the 12th fret they sound a bit flat. How do I remedy these problems? If it helps to know, my Jaguar has a mustang bridge, and the shop I took it into had the bridge saddles sort of messed up and string...

The first bands that started to make me look at Jaguars were Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine. I was a huge metalhead in my early guitar playing years, but about a year ago I shifted from metal to alternative rock and indie music and found my way into the aforementioned bands. Even though SY use ...
