You can also swap out three caps for different values in the hi-freq filters. This keeps the tonestack but enhances the sound.
However, the most drastic change you can do is bypass the tonestack completely which will 100% solve all your problems.
To know how PM me if interested.

I drew a diagram a while back that allows you to switch between series/parallel, you may find it useful. Actually, here's two versions. Series/Parallel/Bass Cut and Series/Parallel/Phasing. The rhythm circuit operates as normal in both. Using your guitar in series will give you more output/guts, dou...

Antiquity Mustang pups are weak too. That's just how mustang pups are, around 5.5K -/+.

I hate 'em, i ripped 'em out of my 66.

Oh, and most of the jangle comes from the vibrato/bridge design, not the pickups. The pot value and pup type only enhances what is already there.

500kB (Linear) / 0.047μF (microfarads), or 47nF (Nanofarads). The two are the same value, just a different way of saying it.

i've not bought into all the claims, but i imagine if i forked over $150+ for a BRIDGE, i'd probably hear tonal differences, sustain, alternate tunings, fender mojo chiminess, etc. again, it's your money. Exactly, for that kind of money you are going to hear differences whether its there or not! Ju...

Vintage JM pups for a MIM? Bit strange considering the pups are worth more than the guitar itself. Unless you mean new 'vintage' type.... You can always keep/put Jag pups in it and use 250-300kΩ or 500kΩ pots to mellow it out and warm it up quite a bit. There's one reason and one r...

BMPTW, 3003-C (2008 RI), V4/V5 (IC), 3034 (V6 - AKA, The Mudhoney Muff) muffs are the only muffs you need to own! All others fail miserably.* *There are exceptions from unit to unit in various versions but to generalize, this is so IMO. In general, Sovtek muffs are boomy/muddy POS that can't handle ...

Just FYI: they are satin and they don't use grain filler (open pore finish), same as the melody makers.

This is a turn off to some but not me, I like it...I don't however like these.

Yeah they (mustang contours) did come out in the late 60's but the body was still the 64 shape, not the 70's shape like your refin one.
The shape changed in the 70's.

The contours were on the original 64 style body for years before the upper horn changed.

The late 70's mustangs are indeed a slightly different shape than the 64/66/69's etc, its in the upper horn. Why they changed it I have no idea, maybe because they are idiots! Anyways, good job making it a mustang again! BTW, that 66 body looks pretty accurate to me, I own a 66 and it looks right fr...

Mechanically? No. Aesthetically, to a nit picking mustang fan, Yes. The Vintage bridge is superior to the reissues in general. It looks different slightly also. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Japanese reissue stuff to put on my vintage mustang as replacement parts if something broke, its fine stuff....

I put a DiMarzio DP218 (single sized super distortion HB) in the bridge and a Jaguar antiquity in the neck of my 0l' 66 mustang cause teh stock vintage pups were weak as piss...under 5K (like 4.6k or some shit) and sounded like shit, thin and stuff. Loved it ever since I done this...about 5 years ag...

I thought I'd try some gold pin EHX tubes once...tried 'em, they sucked in my TR so I put the cheap sovteks back in which I always liked the sound of anyways. I just wanted to experiment I also tried some NOS 60's 12AX7's a friend of the family gave me, same deal, I prefer the cheap sovteks. In this...

You guys that mainly play (or a lot) with the neck p.up, what kind of stuff are you playing? Heavily distorted/fuzzed? The reason I ask is because I have never got along with neck p.ups unless they are used clean or occasionally on a short section of lead. I've always thought that distorted neck p.u...
