My buddy had an elite strat...just like this p bass only strat. It was the 2nd worse sounding strat I've ever heard....gawdy.

Do you think the same thing would go for my 1981 fender bullet? I have been told that fender just threw mustang pickups in it. I LOVE how anemic and wimpy sounding that guitar is. I couldn't ask for anything more.

What about the Melody Maker SG...is that not short scale?...I know I played one that had a single pickup years ago, and I remember liking it, but I can't remember for sure whether or not it was short scale.
