Nevermind, as iconic as it is/was, was insanely over-produced. We're talkin' over-production levels of the "Phil-Collins-would-be-proud" nature.

But heck, I still love cranking it up...but I'll never be able to re-produce the sound of Kurt's Jaguar overdubbed ad infinitum.

Nice! I saw the Melvins in 1997 open for Helmet. Still, to this day, that will remain 1 of the 2 LOUDEST bands I've ever seen live. The other one is Ministry. For a 3-piece, the Melvins have always sounded like a effing WALL OF UNHOLY SOUND THAT WILL EAT YOUR EYEBALLS...and that is in large part due...

Thanks for the balanced and informed feedback, Phil. You are a credit to this forum. Thanks everyone for the great info! I'm super excited about my new Bronco. I'm also looking for a good deal on a vintage Jaguar or Jazzmaster. I have a '61 AV re-issue of the latter, and a 1997 CIJ of the former. It...

i recently purchased a 1960A 4x12 cab with 75W Celestions.

I paired it up with a JCM2000 DSL 100W. This amp is so loud it peels the paint off my walls.

I love the clean channel, I love the ultra-gain channel. Great, versatile amp.

I'll probably pick-up a JCM900 combo at some point as well.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys! I'm having tons of fun playing my new Bronco (she really plays like a champ), so I haven't gone as far as taken the pickguard off and mucked around with the electronics. I was told by the guys in the vintage shop (where I purchased it) that the pots date to '6...

1966 Fender Bronco

Hey folks! Just joined the forum. Great discussions on shortscales! I own a 1966 Fender Bronco. This is odd, because Bronco's were produced between 1967 - 1981, judging by the info I can find online. However, all the pots and electronics on the guitar date to mid-late 1966. Also, the Fender logo on ...
