As above, it was my first decent small amp and based off this alone have stuck with Vox since then. Reverb is spacious and with the tremolo is really usable. Also strongly second kicking the spring tank for weird noises. I also recommend kicking the drummer for weird noises during performances or r...

Mumford & Sons, forever in my heart as the kings of Waitrose Folk Music. Folk music for people too rich for poverty, no matter how much beard they grow.

....... ZING! But yeah, agreed. "Hey, it's just me and an acoustic. This one is about a girl and some things that made me sad. The next one is about the sun, and being happy. See? Full dynamic range in feels, even though I'm relying on a pretty shitty piezo mic pickup!" At least sad singe...

My only crticism is they are a bit too much of a statement, if you play at a local bar and walk out with a V, people immediately expect fuck-off solos, leg on the monitor, pouting and all that bullshit. I'd rather have that than any more open mic nights watching shitty singer-songwriters breathing ...

There is some speaker breakup. And since when do SS amps not break up? They aren't totally flat and clean throughout.

Now hook it up to a 2x12". I had a lovely day in a studio once taking the Champ and hooking it up to a 4x12". It made some duggaduggathrashrock men stop and look at it with a very puzzled expression.

i would say give it time, but yeah, i think companies like SD are creatures of habit and are big enough now to be quite risk averse. take their super dooper deluxe ott model, the "zephyr" - all the parts are already mass produced, the only difference being they are a little left field: si...

GFS has really good pickus for the money . I had a Squier Tele Deluxe years ago I placed the Retrotron Liverpools in and they sounded awesome .. The pickups looked a little cheesy ( call me a snob) but they sounded awesome . Can't forget their Dream 180s and Mean 90s either .. Good stuff. I thought...

Quick note: Peerless factories, like Samick/Shine factories, made guitars for Epi before the switch to the Chinese ones, so I think these actually are late '90s-2002 Casinos with re-shaped headstocks. Note that everything else is the same, including tuners and inlays. They make/made Gretsch Electro...

Not my work. All credit to Melx of HCFX. He built one for himself and one for me. He also built my Bluesbreaker MK 1 which is totally brilliant.

I have never seen one in the wild, but Peerless makes an ES-330 style guitar with a center block: http://www.peerlessguitars.eu/#/revolver/4557054993 I'm no expert but I believe that back when Epiphone Casinos were made in Korea, they were made by Peerless. Good stuff, nicely spotted. In addition t...

They must be a different size from the Riviera as I put normal sized pots in mine... The modern Sheratons have bigger F-holes. http://www.epiphone.com/News/Features/Features/2012/The-Epiphone-Sheraton-II.aspx A 1996 Korean built Sheraton has visibly smaller F holes. http://www.backbeatmusicatlive.c...
