To me it sounds like you would benefit from at least trying some nice strats. Squiers are good value but there's a world of difference across the budget range. I'm not sure of a model to recommend but in your budget you have an awful lot of options. A tele is definitely one to consider too. You'll ...

It's a high pass filter, it reduces bass frequencies from the signal, increasing apparent brightness. It's somewhat thinner sounding, but can have its place, depending on what you're playing and the other instruments involved. Well the Jag has more tones because of the switching options but the Baja has the classic noticeable tones. Both great guitars in their own right, unfair to compare really. i doubt ill use the S-1 switch...dont like out of phase pick ups... what is the treble switch on the jag for. i think it makes...

i really dont want a strat though...as much as i love them i already have one

i heard the CP jag has hotter pick ups than normal jags so it sound slightly more like a strat...is this true?

also has anyone played a baja telecaster?

soon ill be getting a new guitar and i was looking at the classic player jag. i play mainly funk, blues and rock and the gujtarists who im looking to 'imitate' are frusciante, hendrix, hazel. mainly strat users normally i would get a strat but i have a squier which i think im going to put in a humbu...
