Tokai Love Rock? Especially the older ones. Or maybe Vintage? Burny? There are lots of good LP copies out there. A decent setup by a decent luthier can work wonders. Even my brand new Gibson VOS '56 reissue - by far the most expensive guitar I've ever bought - was a dog until I got the frets dressed...

If you just want a player and it's not too expensive, do it. But don't get any ideas about restoring it to any kind of appreciable value. I have a 1971 Deluxe that I got for £700 in 2006 on eBay. Issues: 1. Neck break at the join with the body - well repaired, but ya know... 2. Routed out for full-...

I really love mine. Can't stop playing it right now. That said, I did get the nut replaced and put the Stay-Trem bridge on. The only other thing I think I'll eventually change out is the pups - which I'm actually growing to like, if I dial the tone down a little bit. There's a lot to be said, I thin...

Unless you're desperate for a trem-lock, replace the bridge before you buy a new tailpiece. I put a Stay-trem bridge on and it sorted everything out, including the trem, which, if you pushed it down too far, made a loud clang and put the tuning out. The nut was by far the biggest problem for me. Cra...

How about a silicon one of these (actually it'd have to be the silicon, 'cos the germanium is sold out): http://buildyourownclone.com/fuzz.html I got one for Christmas. Dead easy to build, honestly. I'm a complete moron and I managed it. Sounds, y'know, like a silicon Fuzz Face: http://www.youtube.c...

Was it a Garrard 410? That's the only possession I have left of any perceived value, plus it's ex-radio 1 and used by er, y'know, some bloke.

I've been thinking of shifting it to fund an MJT Jaguar build. I have so many questions.

"The bridge used to rock slightly when I pushed the arm down." That is what should happen with a TOM though - you don't want the strings to drag through the saddles as they will start to cut into them and ruin your radius. But yes, it should go back to the same place after you let go of t...

Well now. I've had a bigsby B7 on my R6 (historic '56 reissue) and it's been a bastard to keep in tune. I finally found someone who'd actually listen to my issues without immediately insisting on a roller bridge and since then, things have definitely been a lot better. Here's what they did: 1. New n...

Meh. I got one dirt cheap and did that Galaxie mod on it. The drive sounds nice, but the mod didn't cure the splats. Only cure I could come up with was to not stop playing.

Nah - weight between the strap buttons will hang from the strap. Imagine taking the neck off - the body would hang from the strap just fine.
You know, that's a very good point. Right. I'm doing it then. Ta.

I'm still waiting for a floating bridge and a Bigsby B5 mod . I've been combing the used sections get a PS Mustang to maybe get froggy and do one up. In time .. I keep thinking about this too. I just wonder, given the extra weight of the Bigsby and the PS Mustang's small body, whether or not the he...

S'alright. I'm pretty sure all the detail is there in Reece's video anyway. Keep tweaking and you'll nail it. There's a relationship between the delay time, the decay and the feedback. Well, I suppose that's obvious. Anyway, point is you might find that you need to play with those to match the tempo...

I can spell, by the way. It's just that I wrote that last night - yes, I was slightly drunk - on an iPad keyboard.

Right. So first of all, select one of the 'multi-tap' modes using the white knob. For the tim being, set he mix to 12o'clock. Now, using the decay knob, the multi tap modes give you control over what happens o the delay repeats. Left of 12 o'clock means they will decrease in volume, as you might exp...

Funnily enough, I was playing around with mine this past weekend. The reverse is certainly much better than the Reflector, but the 'Spring' is pretty rubbish, especially the fake 'boings' when you hit it hard. I think the Reflector kinda beats it on everything except the reverse, but it's a good ped...

Yeah, I'm thinking they might even out the 'mid-scoop'-ey ness of the amp. It's weird. We played a gig the other night, me with the Tremolux and my mate Brendan with his JTM 45 clone. Now, wattage wise, I should be more than able to keep up with him and in a rehearsal room situation, that's proved t...

God bless you both.

It sounds right good. A few issues, though: Crackly pots Tremolo is a bit screwy - nothing happens until you crank the rate and depth way up and when it does, it's all of a sudden. Nothing I can't live with in the short term, mind. Now then. Anyone know much about speakers? I'm running this with a M...
