Uh yeah, I'm excluding vintage Danos from this appraisal as their asking price pretty much puts them in the "nicer" category. 69 model not actual year its fairly new i find the pickups are quite versatile i have always made use of the vol/tone for diff sounds and they work well with the d...

Danos are just great. Especially the 90's, early odd stuff... They do kind of put other budget brands to shame in a way but the thing is that they're only really, really good at nailing that one sound, other budget brands offer a bit more versatile a selection, in terms of achievable tone. Strange ...

Am i mad?

Its a bit worrying when cheap guitars turn out to be nicer then expensive ones. :/ I have had many guitars ranging from Fender to Gibsons and others in between. in that time i have always fancied a Danelectro and recently picked one up for a super low price. after a full setup and a fret dress this ...

Re: New Guitar Day :P

and it sounds great too very jangly almost rickenbackerish.....very curious about danelectros 12 strings now :P I had a Dano DC-12, and I ab'd it with a ric on more than one occasion. Hands down the RIC is the better guitar, but soundwise it's hard to hear a difference. Both are very even despite t...

Maybe not to you, but to someone else, that might seem expensive. I know they cost around £13-£14 where I am and I'd consider that to be expensive for a set of strings that only last maybe a month or two longer than regular strings. They do sound amazing when you first put them on though, I agree...

Rehearsed with this today so i thought i would give you all a report. Played it through a Laney VC30 which wasn't my amp but was fairly close to mine (Lionheart l5t) on all pickup positions this thing sounded great. I was surprised by how different it was to my Strat it was much punchier and warmer ...

Thanks for all the kind words folks it certainly has been a worthwhile project
it plays and sounds really good and the Fender 69 is a great match for the original pickup
also if you look real close you may see that the pickguard is a nicely faded pearloid :P

Awesome work. I am really jealous of the numbered bronco knobs. Those are like gold and hard to find. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/cliff_diver/831818a9.jpg They popped up on ebay in the uk only bidder on one got it for £1 then the seller messaged me saying he had another one but he want...

Some of you may recall my thread on a heavily modified and battered 1977 Fender Musicmaster. Well after 2 months work the restoration is finally complete :D Before: http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/cliff_diver/82b5f6df.jpg here is my original Mockup: http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w281/cl...
