To address the big issues. 1. I used to play Les Pauls before I found my Musicmaster. I'm not going off any official numbers, It felt very VERY chunky. Yes it's a personal preference, but it's just information, yes? 2. Fender had a little booth with some amps to test out the guitars. Each of the amp...

NAMM Road Report: This just in - The new Super Sonic sucks.

I hate to say it first, guys, but from personal experience I can now say that the new SS is terrible. The pickups are horrendous. It's all mid-range and no bite. The action sucks. All the demo guitars had string height high enough that you could fit a fucking pinky under it. NOPE. Finally, the neck ...

Pic of my main squeeze, my '81 Musicmaster. I had a fret job done last month. and I'm pretty sure Steve Vai is jealous of my action ;

I'm actually stunned at the amount of hate in this thread. I run a SD hot rails in the bridge of my strat, and it's one of the cleanest sounds I've ever heard. On top of that you can get the chug necessary for super high gain stuff, then turn your volume down and get the honky strat snap. It's reall...

I use a Fender G-DEC 3. For as gimmicky as it is, it fucking rips when you set it up right. Also headphone jack and the best USB recording interface you ever saw.

Let me tell you firsthand - It's NOT the same as the amps. The amps are great, because they specifically match the speakers to the tonal diversity of the Mustang system. The mustang floor doesn't so unless you spend hours tweaking it it just sounds dull and lifeless. I used a mustang IV as a live am...

I bought one a few months ago for a series of concerts I did. I opened for a different group every friday from August into mid september. It was about 8 or 9 shows. By the end of the final show I had beaten the guitar so bad that the nut had cracked in four different places. I didn't have it for muc...

Probably going to keep it the way it is now, maybe try to rub out the signature if I can. besides that not much. My big issue with this guitar is how wide the fretboard is. Coming from an 80's musicmaster and a jagstang this neck has got to be the most jarring transition I've had in a while. It's go...

NGD: 2008 Taylor Solidbody prototype

Sometimes, it's good to have friends in high places ;)
Picked this guy up from a friend of mine for $1200. It's signed by Zak Brown. Has a total radiohead vibe, and sounds absolutely incredible. Currently only have a couple of photos

Starting a new project guitar: Fender Jag-Bronco

As of now I have begun aquiring parts for my next big guitar build project. Current specs I'm brainstorming. -Fender Mustang or Duo Sonic body -Jag-stang neck (my favorite neck ever period) -Single fender wide-range humbucker in center or bridge position -one volume knob Thoughts? Mockups? Input? an...
