So after emailing Taylor they sent me a link that listed all the dealers local to me, but couldn't tell me which of them might actually stock any of the x12's... there was one place not too far from where I live that has a 712ce, but I couldn't afford to fall in love with that one! i ended up drivin...

wow. thanks for that response! it is the shorter scale im after. i play a lot of 7th and 9th chords all over the fretboard and stretch my pinky out a lot for embellishments or whatever but i find the stretch to be a lot harder on a full scale. but ill check out the other guitars you mentioned. thanks!

taylor 312ce/512ce

im going to go ahead and assume most of you guys know the x12ce series taylors are 24 7/8" scale which is about as short scale of an acoustic i'm aware of that isn't a travel guitar or parlor guitar... i know taylor also has the gs mini which i think is 23.5 but looks a little cheaply made, may...

yea but imo the mastery is ugly as shit, and i think even after international shipping the staytrem was cheaper than a mastery... i read a bunch of opinions on both of them here on shortscale and offsetguitars and decided i would try the staytrem first.

damn damn damn. it was not the allparts brand vibrato... i put the new fender one on and shes still rattling! :( also the dimensions of the two are slightly different and i had to shave off a little of the pickguard where it meets the vibrato... i see a staytrem bridge in my future

no worries, its not the arm thats the problem, i don't even use the arm.

i use the effect pretty subtly, if i want it i just rock the cigar tube with my palm. thats why i love mustang's vibrato so much, no arm in the way!

just ordered a japanese reissue vibrato... please correct me if i am wrong, but i think the reason i can't find an american made mustang vibrato is because fender has never reissued an american made mustang, only japanese. ill post here when i install the new one, hopefully it will be the end of my ...

yes the bridge is balanced and intonates perfectly. its the allparts jgro 7.25 radius. i believe i have the avri mustang bridge... i had the same issue when i had what i'm pretty sure was a japanese bridge in there as well that now lives in a jag with no problems... the vibrato itself is definitely ...

thanks. i have done all that and it still buzzes. unfortunately i don't know anyone else with a mustang or know any stores anywhere near me to go check one out, but i'm beginning to think its just inherent in the design... i built the guitar about 2 years ago, and its always had that buzz (that luck...

mustang vibrato rattle/buzz

help me make it stop! i'm almost certain it is the vibrato and not the bridge, and definitely not any loose wire or anything shaking around inside, because i removed the pickguard and control plate and it still rattles/buzzes. i wrapped a little tape around the bridge posts and the little threaded g...

this has everything the OP asked for, just in different places i found half this schem claiming to be what i wanted but it didn't work! the original author had something really fishy going on at the pots, so at the pots side its standard... i mainly use both in-phase in parallel, but its nice to hav...

how'd it sound? how'd look?

think theres enough room to pop something in on a jag without modding the trem plate?

mustang bridge saddle screws

mustang bridge saddle screws, anyone know what size they are? i seemed to have lost one :fp: it looks like maybe #3-20?? 2cm? i don't know, but home depot doesn't have it, i checked... home depot never has anything you really need. if it helps, i got the bridge from dguitarparts.com, i'm waiting for...

thanks for the tip... guess i already found the best deal... i'm pretty sure it was even $122 a couple months ago when i first made my parts list... fyi, there is a classic vibe duo neck for $45 on ebay, but from what i've heard its 24" 21 fret, and for a mustang, to avoid any intonation issues...
