At that price i'd look for a used PRS Custom 22.
But if you want a strat, you could get a brilliant one for about half that cost.
Full disclaimer I have a few really nice guitars and mostly just play my MIM strat.

The 1969 reissue competition mustangs hands down the best i've played due to the neck alone. The 65 reissue's have a chunkier neck profile. & i've never played the KC so i can't compare. I don't miss the jag-stang. I never miss it... It wasn't a very good guitar.

According to a bloke on OSG (who had early info re the VM offsets and Squire VIs etc): They're MIM and are $449. There's also MIM hardtailed Mustangs with different pickup configurations for $449. And a MIM Mustang bass with a PBass Special pickup config for $549. at that price they're very temping...
