thanks Tim, just popped up in my noggin, but obviously you had that covered! just saw this, i know the work has been done but I do believe most vintage MKIII circuits had a volume limiting resistor at the output which a lot of people bypass with a wire for more output, just out of interest Tim do you know if this was the case with this circuit?

funnily enough there's a small guitar shop in Birmingham that stocks them, haven't tried them myself though the shop owner really rates them and they seem reasonably priced. Ironically, that shop's called "The Little Guitar Shop"... Got some fab gear in there....check out the obscure guit...
