It's a 1966 -- so, same body as the 60s Duo Sonics and Mustangs.

4-way rotary switch for Musicmaster-to-Duo Sonic?

Hi there, I've been looking for a 24"-scale Duo-Sonic for some time with little luck, but have just come across a nice and cheap 24" scale Musicmaster, and figure I'll add a pickup and have my Duo-Sonic by a different route. I'll put the pick guard and pots away for safe keeping somewhere,...

Yep, I decided to wait for one of those better deals! If anyone has a lead on a Duo Sonic II, 24" scale, any colour, all original, please let me know! In the meantime, there is, of course, eBay...

We each have our aesthetic sensibilities. As for me, I think the white bodied ones start looking not so great as they age. They started out with a white body, white pickup covers, and white slder switches, that were all the same or complementary hues, such that they looked good together as a unifie...

There must be a reason that Fender didn't use the iconic Strat jack on any other of their instruments...

No no, just one of her many Duo Sonic/Musicmaster IIs (I wasn't being terribly precise...)

Unfortunately, he won't be budged! It's okay -- lots of these "uncollectible" guitars out there! (Though not often in that kind of condition...)

Looks a bit more pristine in the pictures than in person. But definitely kept in spectacularly good shape. I feel a bit guilty playing it. But not so guilty as I'd feel with humbuckers :)

So I can play like John Lennon (well, closer), I look like David Byrne, and I'm inspiring Smiths references. This guitar IS magic!

The neck is definitely the new style (judging from the headstock) -- so I guess only the pickups and electronics could be from the older stock?

My 1964 Musicmaster II

I recently picked up a really early Musicmaster II -- according to my information, this guitar was made two months before the IIs and the Mustang were even announced. Everything is dated June 1964 (neck, pots, pickups), it's got the spaghetti decal, and a low L28*** serial number. http://farm8.stati...

Thanks for the help. The price seemed pretty far off. Tempting since it's local, but even with saved shipping, too expensive.

The search continues...!

To Buy or Not to Buy: 1966-7 Duo Sonic II

Hi everyone, I have the opportunity to buy a late 1966/early 1967 (Serial 177***) Duo Sonic II. It's all original, and in good shape, with a few nicks and scratches. It comes with its original case (including keys!) and, apparently, its original strap. Really great-looking guitar, and I'm dying to t...
