I owned one of those Paul Westerberg First Acts. Got it for $45 out of somebody's garage. It is a cool guitar and I recommend it. Gnarly p-90 in the bridge, kinda skinny neck, plays like a hoss. I gave it to a friend of mine. Some previous owner wiped off or painted over most of the plaid finish on ...

... which is because for some reason I'm set to GMT on this forum. I have no explanation or justification for the post (other than perhaps I was black out drunk and have no recollection but I remember going to bed that night having had a few but not that many). I apologize. Anyway, Noisefest will be...

NORCAL NOISEFEST 2013
Just thought I would pass along this to people in the area who might be interested. This upcoming weekend, Thursday October 2 through Sunday October 5, is the 17th annual Northern California Noisefest. We've brought together a bunch of great acts from around the country to play in Sacramento, Califo...

How does the Swamp/Wizard 2x12 sound clean? I'm wondering if I could get away with a 2x12 just to save money. Concerned about my amp putting out too much power, and the fact that I've got a lot of super gainy fuzz pedals I use sometimes (i.e. BAT Oath/Ritual combo). But I'd much rather lug around a ...

Sunn 1000s: soliciting suggestions on speakers etc.
So I have this monster Sunn 1000s. 120 watts, but more like 300. Both transformers are respectively bigger than a moderate sized infant and there are like 20 tubes in the fucking thing. It's loud and clear. I was gonna try to find a matching 2x15 cabinet but that's basically impossible. So I'm proba...

I don't think the pickups are super low output, maybe it is just that the lace sensors on the Tele plus I just got are just shockingly high output! Jagumarr's pickups are also significantly lower output than an AVRI JM; then again, only in the single coil position and I tend to keep the pickups in s...

The Jagumarr is great. I have an OW one and really like it. Pros: Really nice sounding pickups. The fourth position with the two PUs in series is fantastic, really useful. You can definitely get a wide range of sounds from this. Excellent neck. Very comfortable. Perfect. If you are into chunky but n...

I am a big fan of Dunlop's "HEAVIEST CORE" strings, despite the silly name. Plain third.
