If you can find one the Pearl OD-05 from the 80s is a bit of a cult. It has the usual OD and volume controls but also has a requency control and EQ gain, letting you dial in the tone you want pretty accurately. It uses the same Texas instruments 4558 chip as in the classic TS. I also have the Nobels...

Andertons is my local big music store and is where I got my J Mascis jazzy. It has some knowledgable staff but that pair of bellends can really fuck off. Guildford has the dubious honour of being the home of the Academy of Contemporary Music, where they churn out the next generation of identikit ses...

Re: Looking for someone to refin my supersonic

Hi all, first post here and looking for advice already, now I've seen too many nice SuperSonics to let mine languish in a half finished purgatory of nice parts but shite paint. I used to use a 1970s Simms-Watts PA100 head through a Marshall 15" cab. 100 watts of clean valve power, sounded amazing, I ran it alongside a Roland Bolt combo set crunchy with reverb maxed and EQ'd for more high mids and highs. I ran these as each side of stereo delay and tremolo and got an i...

LEAAVE ITTTTTT! dude, I would leave it. it adds your own touch. And if you're really set on changing it, refinish it yourself. You get better every time around and it curled up, you have a problem with the different kinds of paint used and that can be easily fixed by asking us what is okay and not ...

If you look at my thread I've built a SS and am half way thru a sparkle paint job. I'd even love to see a real one to refine my specks on my templates. However a good auto body shop can do this for you faster than I could. Try to get some quotes. Maybe we could work something out if the cost at a a...

Believe me it looks much better in the pic than in real life, that's the joy of crappy phone cameras for you, in the flesh there's big marks in the paint and the sparkle just makes it look worse.
