Wish I still had my old Musicmaster, I modded it and gigged it solid.

I have turned a Cyclone into a version of it, just for old times sake.

Mind you with its vibrato, its sort of a cross between the two;-)

I never go back on a promise;-) I tried the pickup in different positions, and lo and behold for me it seemed to work best in the traditional Musicmaster slot. So using a pickguard blank, I made a nice red torty guard for it, and mounted the pickup in place. New strings, new nut and it looks like th...

wow, that looks very cool. what are the pickups? Bill Lawrence Micro-Coils. Great pickups at a great price for us in the UK. I have a set of Keystones in my other MIM Tele. I make a lot of my own pickguards from either blanks or even other materials. I've just done a nice red torty one for my Cyclo...

Motown Pickguard/Scratchplate

Went into a charity shop the other day and found two very scratched and pretty much unplayable Motown LPs for £1 each, and figured that they would make a good pickguard or two for my two gigging Teles, that I use in a soul covers band. Decided to try them first on my black Tele, so I set too with t...

As a rule, I don't like stickers on my guitars. I would rather see the natural finish and they tend to trash up the guitar. I do have a strawberry decal on my 1973 Bronco, but it actually looks good and it was on the guitar when I got it. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8294/7810194682_1c4b221403_b.j...

My wine red MIM Tele is one of my main gigging guitars. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k7/andys_01/TwoMIMTeles.jpg I love mine too, I have done similar mods, replaced the bridge, and the nut, plus both my Teles have sets of Bill Lawrence pickups in them, the wine red has Keystones, the black one ...

The swimming pool rout is going to help with this one. I plan to take off the old PG and pickups, wire in the Hotrail and screw it in to the body with springs, then string it up and play it a bit. I plan to move the pickup to different locations to find the optimum place for it to be a single banger...

Wow that old MM is great, just like the one I had. When I first got it I gigged it stock but soon did some mods, remember this was 1982 so some heinous things were done to what were essentially old guitars at the time. I put a Bill Lawrence pickup in the neck slot and used it like that for a while. ...

NGD - Squier Cyclone, some mod ideas.....

Recently picked up this Squier Cyclone for a steal of a price, and have been playing it for a while to see whether it needs modding, and if so what into. Changed the strings, lowered the action and put some black knobs on. The switch tip is missing, but other than that it is virtually mint http://i8...

Nice Concord! What other two Westones do you own? Great guitars. Welcome to the forum. A very weary Thunder 1A, which I got for next to nothing but had to rebuild http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k7/andys_01/Thundermoddedfront.jpg And a virtually pristine Thunder Jet, which I got off ebay for £51...

Westone Concord 1, short scale

Just joined, and I hope this is in the right part of the forum, but I thought I'd post some short scales that I own or have had through my hands with repairs. First up, Westone Concord 1. 24" scale, Matsumoku made Japanese guitar. These are sweet instruments, easy to play and with a tone and vi...

I've got a black Cyclone incoming, and I plan on turning into either a Mustang config. or even a MusicMaster style guitar.

I had an MM years ago, which I modded and wore out (wonder where that guitar is now?) and I am hankering after that simple, neck pickup only goodness again.
