The box itself came out kinda cool for a...

The junction box is coming together… just doing the final clear coats on the housing before attempting painting the outside. I painted in the inside for practice more than anything… not sure why I signed and serial numbered it… as I'm only planning on making two of these (it seemed like the pr...

The guitar is up at running, at least well enough for a test drive… this is just the guitar with the preamp buffer, not the effects loop. I think it's wired up correctly so far, time will tell how the OBEL works onc...

Jesus christ. That's got three hamburgers on it. Is there a setting that uses all six coils at once? Onboard loop very compelling. No, no setting for all three pickups on. I don't know if I could jam another toggle switch in the cavity to facilitate it! Yeah, i'm excited to try the effects loop out...

"Jerry Garcia" Strat Project Complete

http://imageshack.us/a/img707/7677/hqml.jpg Howdy all… thought I'd share my latest project despite it having nothing to do with short scales… it's basically a Strat that I jammed full of all the same electronics found in Garcia's Irwin-built Rosebud guitar. It features an onboard effects loop, ...

DO IT! And is this based on the fact it will work correctly or your sense of adventure? Either way I'm likely to give it a try. I think the Am. Std. middle pickup is right around 6 ohm (5.99... or something like that). I'm guessing the MIM stds. are in the 6s, or perhaps higher. It leads me t...

Specific Pickup Question

hey all... I was wondering if I could install a US strat pickup(middle) between two MIM strat pickups. Anyone tried this? I'm not so concerned with the mixing of magnet types, but rather the polarity of the pickups involved. I guess I can just wire it up and find out. My thinking is that I could add...

Love the black guard on sunburst Thanks... I like it because it sort of hides the bridge humbucker. In any event, here's another new video, this time playing one of my teles. It's another tune that the Dead covered... I guess John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas wrote it and it's been covered...

Blank Strat Wiring Templates

I went looking for something like this this morning and came up empty handed so I made my own... hopefully someone else will find them useful. Please let me know if they aren't full size and/or printable and I'll work on getting them sorted. There's one with, and one without, DPDT on/off/on mini tog...

Indeed... I was surprised not to see the price jump $50 here in the states. They're still $599 which seems like a pretty good deal IMO, especially for the Roadhouse with all it's fancy new electronics.

Lone Star
Roadhouse

Some sweet looking new models... the roadhouse looks quite interesting. Fender is sure rolling out the goods lately. Between these new strats and the new '68 SF amp models I'm hankerin' for some new gear... bring on the GAS-X

I can imagine how challenging painting a burst can be... did you refin the bursts or just paint a solid over them? BTW, the tele looks great and I like the color you chose for the strat body.

My New Guitar Blog...

Hey all, I've been working on a gear based blog of my guitars, amps, pedals, and odd n' ends. There's a little of everything on there... some reviews, stories, links, how-tos and plenty of pictures. I thought since I'm always sharing jam videos on various forums (and YouTube) that people might be in...
