The one on the left is a 1960 ES-140. On the right is a 1958 Les Paul Jr 3/4 size. The Les Paul Jr is much more playable FWIW. Very narrow neck on the ES-140.

here's something interesting: short scale National resonator

(And nearly four thousand dollars.) Apparently it's the twin of a custom one...

http://i60.tinypic.com/21ovn2w.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com/34rgb4g.jpg I attached a vintage Musicmaster neck to my MIJ Telecaster. The basic premise is simple enough: You can bolt a strat-shaped neck into a tele-shaped neck pocket. The saddle location needs to move forward about 1/4" to allow t...

If you want repro style tuning machines (Kluson style with white plastic buttons) these are about $20. I have them on my DuoSonic and am happy with them: http://angela.com/fender60sklusonstylemustangduosonicmusicmastertuners.aspx A more expensive option: http://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/products/...

another vintage Duo-Sonic salvage project

Another vintage-modern partscaster with vintage DuoSonic body and neck plus new hardware and pickups. The body was refinished LPB by some previous owner. Not an award-winning finish but it looks good from ten feet. Plays like a dream. Again, a shout out to Louisville, KY luthier Ryan Scott of Scott ...

I used to own an Epiphone Elitist Casino. I sold it because I figured eventually I want to 'upgrade' to a Gibson ES-330. I still intend on doing that someday, but there are a few more guitars I'd like to sell before buying any more. ...And in addition to being ridiculously lightweight, Casinos are ...

I like it. Hard to imagine it looking better with chrome or nickel hardware, so the gold is OK by me. It might look a little better with "top hat" style knobs in gold or vintage amber.

Well the scale length is a full inch shorter than a Mustang's. There aren't many new guitars with scale lengths that short.

Looks interesting to me. I'm happy to see any new guitar on the market in a short scale comparable to a vintage DuoSonic. The Eastwood guitars I have tried in person have ranged from really great to ho-hum. I'm not sure how I feel about ordering one sight unseen but I tend to think a good luthier ca...

MIJ Fender "smart size" Stratocaster. (22" scale). Fender Japan also makes a corresponding short scale Jazz bass that looks pretty sweet.

http://i60.tinypic.com/11ca7mu.jpg Thanks gents. A word of clarification on the color: we actually went with "smoke green" as shown on the Re-Ranch website, which is intended to match the lighter of the two shades of green on the two-tone Gretsch Anniversary model . ( http://reranchstore....

1961 Duo Sonic salvage/restoration

Greetings from Kentucky everyone. My first post here. Not sure if you'd properly call this a "restoration" but it's a 1961 Duo Sonic neck mated with a 1961 Duo Sonic body, refinished in surf green. The neck has the original finish, original frets and original decal. The tuners are repro. B...
