About 200GBP, yeah? Not bad...dunno what they're using for gear...Daw vs tape or a combo of the two...and what kind of outboard gear they have...and the quality(skill set) of their engineer.

I know there's a lot of debate out there concerning 60's vs 70's Fenders, and weight amongst other things...I'm not really sure. The routing for the Mustang trem would have lightened the load...and 60's MM's had duo sonic routing...Hard call. But I would guess for the most part yes the 70's Fenders ...

Did they now? Shows how much I know about 70's Fenders. Apologies. Still think the tort looks nice, either way. :)

Dunno if this helps, but one of the major studios in Canada can be gotten for $1000/day with engineer. That being said I've done 2 records for majors at another studio in Toronto that usually runs for $800/day w engineer. And I've had the same studio offered to me for $400/day. Sorry for referencing...

Did the swinger go by a different name? Was there an "oddity" or "prototype" that ended up "swinger" at the end of the 60's? Musiclander, but that didn't make it to the headstock. There are many with just "Fender" and no model name though. Yess...thank you Fa...

The guy I got it from had gutted it already. And he had it paired with a 65 slab Mustang neck(why I bought it). Most likely it had mother of pearl originally. At one point when I was much younger, I owned a 64 stock daphne MM, and it was an MOP guard. I think that was the usual for them. I traded th...

Hi everyone, First off Happy Thanksgiving from Canada. Second off...I let the knackered Musicmaster in Florida go. That being said the Mustang is mostly finished. I will post photos as soon as my iPad gets back from repair. It took a dive off the monitor a few weeks ago, and I hadn't gotten around t...

Awstin...did you get that body from a guy named Mike in upstate NY? Pretty sure that was mine. Nice score. Enjoy it. It came from Canada, and I believe it was her first trip back to America since she was made. http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61332 Pics in this thread, just before she...

A second for Traynor. That little head is a nice one. And the Vox/Fender ish voicing is kinda Traynor's thing. Traynor has been around since 1963, and the sound has mostly been variations on this. A really nice vintage practice amp from Traynor is the YBA2 aka BassMate. There are a few versions. I h...

I'm a n00b here, but I've looked around the forum before:) Been an offset member for a little while. It's exciting to have found a coupla girls to save. I don't like seeing old guitars stripped for parts. The tuners for this stripped MM sold a few weeks maybe a month ago. What's in the pictures is a...

Well. It's on:) I pick up my 66 Musicmaster neck/body/bridge in Oct...hooray. It was stripped of it's finish, and clear coated...so she'll be a good refinish candidate All being well and good, the 65/66 Mustang should be finished by then. When I was hunting for the parts for the Mustang, I happened ...

From this blog: http://guitarz.blogspot.ca/2011/05/fender-swinger-look-under-hood.html Says there were about 300 made...from older leftover stock. The one in his blog...the body was routed to be a Fender V five string bass. He doesn't say about neck dates. That thinking goes in line with Fender sale...
