Re: Octave Up recommendations

So I ended up ordering myself a TC Sub N Up. It was the Tone Print feature that ended up selling me on it. Now I just have to wait for the seller to fire it my way. I'll try to get some samples of my finished rig when it arrives.

Cheers guys. Massively appreciated.

Re: Octave Up recommendations

Yeah, I looked at the Pico POG, it's not the cheapest option out there, but more than the Nano POG. The TC is by far the cheapest viable option, and I do like the Tone Print feature (have a TC Vibrato with that feature, it's really good). At the moment it's the one I'm most likely to bite the bullet...

Re: Octave Up recommendations

Cheers man.

Also going to throw a wild card in the mix. On the much cheaper end of the spectrum, YouTube videos seem to make the Donner Harmonic Square seem a viable option, but again, YouTube isn't the best for comparing things. Anyone tried it?

Octave Up recommendations

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I tried searching but the forum search box kept giving me an error message. I'm looking for a really clean sounding octave up, to use with bass, which won't break the bank. Seems pedals have shot up in price a lot the last few years and so a lot will break th...

Oh wow, that paint job is spectacular, and the pick-guard looks amazing! What an absolute beauty.

Re: pictures of your guitars here

Haha, yeah, they do look remarkably similar. Mine is definitely the standard wiring though. Oh, and I changed the strap pin to being on the top horn, makes the guitar far better balanced. Never liked the strap pin placements on SGs. It's still slightly headstock heavy but doesn't lunge forward anymo...

Re: pictures of your guitars here

Seeing as I'm back I thought I'd post a pic of one of my guitars. This is my Westfield SG copy; that project guitar that came out great. It was given to me pretty neglected, by a friend, who bought it to learn and never learnt to play. New tuners, new pickups and a complete setup; it's now an absolu...

Re: Shortscale collective

Funnily enough, when I resurrected my old account on here today, it still had a link to my old, now defunct, myspace profile. There was nothing on there beyond my name which still showed though. Guessing they had a data purge on dormant accounts.

Also never played shortscale basses, messed about on a few very cheap ones they had in work for kids (I'm a teacher), but never owned one or played a decent one. That is a pretty nice looking bass though.

I've heared plenty of people use the word Mojo to describe electronics circuits before. I appologise that it offends you. Sorry I made you kill yourself. I appologise that I said something incredibly stuipid which you feld obliged to shoot me down on. I know you have an electronics degree and I resp...

Shut. Up. Do you know how to make a silently switching A/B box with low cost components for mass production? No. You don't know what you're blathering on about. Overcomplicated - idiot. What purpose would that serve for a company interested in making profit - adding unecessary logic and components....

The circuit seems incredibly simple though, not like the behringer over-complicated no-mojo circuits. Overcomplicated? No- MOJO ? Seriously - shut up. You don't know what you're talking about. Overcomplicated? I can't get over that - what a stupid-ass thing to say, you're probably comparing a Digit...

It looks like a lookalike switch at quick glance, certainly not a big chunky EH switch, but I did the unplug-the-battery test and it seems to be true bypass. I'll have a proper look tomorow and find out for definate. The circuit seems incredibly simple though, not like the behringer over-complicated...

Those things are flaming gross (pardon the bad pun). Seriously though, that's the most tasteless way of making on the of the most beautiful guitars ever built look nasty! Whoever had the idea should be shot!

Now you mention it, I think I've seen them boxed as belcat before now, cheers Bob! I knew I'd seen them before but couldn't remember the manufacturor and was confused because it didn't say on it and came unboxed as is. I dunno what the consensus on here was when they where discussed, will try to fin...
