You can get a new Jaguar neck from AllParts. Specifically I got mine from Stratosphere since AllParts is expensive as hell when you buy from them directly. I can also look at Reverb, Ebay, etc. What prevents me from buying one at the moment is that the general Jag necks are too chunky and wide for ...

What about the Squier Bullet HH Mustangs? They're very cheap, cheaper than a replacement neck, although the neck is satin finished, you might not like that. I find the Squier necks to be more chunky than Fender necks. Plus they'd need a proper fret job (at least the few I'd tried) and I hate the sa...

Building Mini-Jag: looking for Jagstang-type neck
So basically I decided to try and build my own guitar. It will have wiring and switching like a vintage Jag, but be smaller. Pickups probably from Creamery (might need to buy them before Brexit day), hardware basically Jaguar stuff, might opt for non-chrome control plates to keep the weight down, an...

Ok, I took the Duo Sonic apart completely, cleaned it, de-coroded it, fixed a few poor connections (it was not used for over 20 years), and now it.. well, would love to say it rocks, but actually it surfs. It has this somewhat mellow surfy sound when played clean. Whoa, what a surprise. The tuners a...

Ugh, was stuck in an endless meeting. Time to catch up here. I guess we need to start with how you know the serial numbers weren't recycled, knowing that Fender has a 70 year history of messing up the dates on everything. Using date stamped parts from previous years in newer models all the way back ...

The white color variations for Japan built mustang's made for the US market are as follows. 1990s. Olympic white with red tort guard 2000s. Vintage white with brown tort guard. Now days you see them on the used market with repro pickguards confusing the situation a little bit. Also fender went from...

Oh gosh! Someone just offered me a 90s Duo Sonic in black with black pickups and switches for 200 Euro in my neighbourhood! It's probably a lot more than US pawnshop prices, but considering pawnshops are not really a thing here and every purchase from abroad would be more like nearly twice this I'm ...

You can just keep the three way toggle switch and wire in a two-way switch for in/out of phase, and after some work to fit it, slap on a Bigsby and you should be set, really. Actually, that does sound simple, apart from adjusting the pickguard, and possible the body to allow for the other switch I ...

Surf-green RI Mustang? Also, tot pickguard colours
Were there ever any surf-green Japanese Mustang made in the late '90s? My guess is it's a faded sonic blue but unless the photos I'm seeing are massively photoshopped I can't really see how such an odd fade would work. Also, what's the deal with brown and red tort pickguards on pre-2000 Japanese Mus...

Modding Duo-Sonic to hell and back. What is doable?
GAS is strong and there's a chance I won't find the guitar I'm looking for (certain CIJ mustang or light! Jagstang). So I keep on looking at 90s Duo-sonics. I'm looking for a light, small offset that also sounds different to the American Vintage TeleSingle-Coil Pickups in my Tele. Love the in and ou...
