Almost NGD. Just picked up this 2004 MIA Strat from a shop in Florida. Almost grabbed a black with white p/g and black p/ups locally for the tuxedo look. Was a tough decision, but it ended up that I thought this one's more unique with the blizzard pearl and HSS. Not sure I'll keep the pearloid p/g t...

What everyone else here said. Alternately, you could try wiring them parallel instead of series. It'll drop the output, but it cleans up the muddiness a bit and retains the humbucking aspect. I had my Jackson wired with a series/parallel switch, and you could definitely tell the difference.

Guess I'm used to referring to virtually anything guitar-wise as a project to justify spending more time on them to the wife.

Got a 6 in line set on my Charvel, and they work great. I put a 3/3 set on an Ibanez SZ320 that I used to have, and they were the same. Only complaint I've ever heard is that since the grip on the locking pin is pretty thin, it isn't as easy to turn as some other brands. I think Schaller makes one w...

Played bass in several bands over the years. I had a different setup in each of them. Used a 5-string Ibanez SDGR through a David Eden preamp in one. Next one was a Lakland Skyline Series 55-01 bass (which kicked ass) through the Eden. Then I was using the Lakland through an Ampeg SVP classic pre, t...

Yup, I have an old Jackson that I had tuned down to B. Just used D'Addario medium top/heavy bottoms (11-62). It did have a Floyd Rose bridge though, so not sure how that would work on a Tele.

Yeah, definitely epic pic Ultra. I hate the cheapo piezo plinky sound, but am confusingly okay with it on an electric guitar now (like a Fishman Tele/Strat bridge). I might just enjoy the idea that we associate that piezo saddle sound with an acoustic guitar SO much that it doesn't even have to be a...

That Crafter does sound nice, and the P90 instead of the 'bucker is pretty cool. I haven't shopped around too much because I've owned 3 Godins and was really impressed with the build quality. But now that you mention it, I think I'll broaden my search a bit.

I have GAS - Godin A6 Ultra

So after being...let's say "nicely shown the door" from my last band, I've decided that plugging into a 50 watt head through a 4x12 cab and cranking away at 110+ db isn't something I want to do again. Maybe I'll change my mind at some point, but I doubt it. Now I'm way more interested in p...

DiMarzio Steve Morse Model is a smokin' pickup. I have one in both of my guitars. Replaced a DiMarzio Air Norton in my basswood body Jackson and it has an amazing midrange growl and will melt your face. Stays nice and clear even tuned down to B. Put one in my mahogany body Charvel to replace the Ton...

Oh wow steve's special. How do you like that? Actually, my mistake it's a Steve Morse model not the Steve's Special . But to answer your question, since I've played both, they're great sounding pickups. I would actually agree with the tone chart that DiMarzio has on their site. The SS definitely ha...

Always been a Superstrat fan. I'm not sure what it is about the style, but it's the style I'm most comfortable playing. So I have 4 of them. Charvel San Dimas III 1996 reissue and Jackson Dinky XL, which was my first real guitar. The Charvel is the guitar I would go back into a burning house for. On...

Our other guitar player has a Mark V 1x12 combo, and it sounds really good. It restored my faith in Mesa that had been destroyed by the Rectifier series. Also plenty loud enough in a small room to keep up with my K55 through a 4x12. He ran it through my cab one night, and it was a night & day di...

WTRed, did you end up buying the Weber? I have a Rivera K55 that I can't turn up past 2.5 at practice without killing people, but it doesn't hit the sweet spot until about 4. I'm looking into attenuators and without shelling out $500 for the Rivera Rockcrusher, I'm torn between the THD Hot Plate and...
