anytime u put a resistor across the lugs of a pot it will change the overall value of the pot but it will not be a smooth taper across the pot, it will work but not the same as just using a 250k pot this is true and relevant. i don't know what pleseasarrr is or whatever. i just thought it was a coo...

potentiometers are variable resistors, so you're basically putting two resistors in parallel which means to determine the resulting resistance, you'll use this forumla http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/f/5/f/f5f541d249c3af1c6a5567bbaa7002b5.png So if you have a 500k pot and you want it to be 250k, so...

that's a terrible speaker design. if you know not to touch anything when it's plugged in and you learn how to drain caps then you won't kill yourself. a new amp will have a pcb which will be much more confusing. musicmaster bass amps are very simple circuits and will be much easier to figure out and...

I've seen blackface Bassmen on shopgoodwill on more than one occasion. Kind of sucks actually, no longer can some kid score a crazy good deal at a local goodwill. It sold for about market price.

Awesome comparison! Interestingly I thought the MG69 pickups sounded better than the '65 RI pickups. They seemed fuller and more balanced. Yeah, people always give the 69 a hard time, but I loved mine and never thought the pickups were weak or poor sounding. I traded mine away but I really want it ...

Cab should have higher power rating than your amp. Unless you're going for that (literally) blown speaker sound.

Fuck. Is there some sort of special power matching you need to do for heads and cabs? I don't wanna buy some random old head down the road, and find that I need to get some special rare cab. Speakers are rated for a certain wattage and impedance which is measured in Ohms. Most cabs are rated 4ohm, ...

right. so much in fact so that the things loosen themselves up over time, spin counter clockwise, and fall out without you even knowing until years later when you want to take some photos with the bar in that you never use <3 I wonder what the ratio of arm whammy and tailpiece whammy use on a Musta...

If you take it to a tech, get him to change the volume and reverb pots for linear rather logarithmic pots, this will give you greater control on them, rather than them getting to full around 4. I have a 1975 Musicmaster Bass Amp that I love but the I don't get a steady control with the knobs. The v...

I play a 2x10 and it does very well. When I went shopping for cabs at Bass Northwest , they really steered me away from 1x15s. 2x10's have 89% of the surface area of a 1x15, thus pushing a comparable amount of air, and they're much less prone to being blown out because they don't have huge, heavy dr...
