where did you buy your first shortscale
From a place called "Bizarre Guitars" in Phoenix, AZ. in 2003. I had called all over this country-literally a couple of hundred calls and i finally found the lefty mustang i was looking for-oly white with red tort pg and hardcase. The only problem (being a Japanese model) was the width at ...

mustang/duo-sonic difference
In keeping with how my entire life goes :? i just scored a beater 60's/70's vintage style duo II bridge from ebay so it looks like i finally get to start my duo. Thanks to all of your input, i feel confident that the height issue of using a toronado bridge is now moot-WOOT!!! Now i think i'll get ba...

mustang/duo-sonic difference
Now i remember why i had tried to get certain companies to manufacture a run of original spec/'65 type duo bridges I think i'll just go the mustang trem route. Thanks for the input dudes.

So would the difference be in the bridge plate thickness or were the saddle height adjustment screws longer or? The reason i ask is that, iirc, Mike stated that he took material off the neck pocket of RobertOG's body AND had to do some pretty serious (2-cd's!!) shimming and i'm looking for a way aro...

mustang/duo-sonic difference
Dear folks, Having been inspired by Mike's duo-sonic project, i was wondering how the bridge height issue (mustang bridge standing taller than the flat-plate duo bridge) could be rectified without the shimming Mike had to do. Was there a manufacturing difference between say a '65 duo-sonic II and a ...

Just an update on my search for the lefty duo sonic body. I'm probably the last one to figure this out but i just found Guitar Mill and they do lefty mustang bodies. I talked to Mario there and he said they could also leave out the mustang tremolo route (and, i'm assuming, the bridge drilling too) s...

once you've gone black-you can never go back
I agree about the "DOUCHE" list. I will be looking for a pickguard maker soon and i'm glad you posted this. There is a saying: "learn from your mistakes", and this is true, but it's also easier (and cheaper!) to learn from others mistakes and that's why i appreciate it when peopl...

Mickie08, Tha funny thing is that i pm'ed Rob before i started this thread and he said explicitly no then. But i don't have oldtime insight as to how you guys banter back and forth. When he stated that he might have Mo (whom i don't know either) make one and that i might be in luck-when i read that ...

I feel like i've gotten off to a completely fucked up start here. Not wanting to drag anyone through any of this anymore i will surrender the cause. I will search elsewhere. Thanks to those of you that offered up good points.

Listen jcyphe, if you read Robert's post above mine you would notice that he said to Fran that he may get motivated to do it while doing a body for him. And if you could read my post i said i would completely understand if he didn't want to-but IF he did we need to talk as there are some technical d...

Robert, if you do decide to do my lefty duo, there is much i need to know. I have the toronado bridge like Mike has so the screw pattern is different that the original '65 type. Also, Mike mentioned in his posts/video that the bridge was not the same height as the original and he had to take some ma...

Robert, I accept your not wanting to make a lefty duo body. That being said, i tried to get Warmoth, USA Custom guitars and Bill Callaham to machine a run of original style duo II bridges and they woudn't do it because of a lack of interest here-not because i didn't try. I actually had a late '90's ...

Does anyone know where i could get a lefty duo-sonic II body made? I have a toronado bridge that i want to use and i can get lefty necks from warmoth or USA Custom guitars but the body seems to be the needle in the haystack.

I'm sorry about the multiple posts-i've never actually been in a forum group before and i didn't know that it would be considered spam. When i looked at the names on the different forums there seemed like quite a few different ones and i'm actually trying to do people a favor by generating enough in...
