Thanks guys, just changed the pups to the sjag3's. Positive results. These are the best pups that have been in my compstang. I had am strat pups in, and they were just OK. I then popped A duncan hot rail in the bridge, but i thought the tone clean sounded flat. These are A good comprimise to me, as they sound great overdriven and clean. Now i'm curious what the sjag2's would sound like. geez, I just realized I forgot the P in pounder in the subject heading.
I had SJAG2 in my Jaguar. They are good pickups but I think a strangle switch is necessary to get glassy cleans out of them. I'd probably just wire a tone knob with a push-pull to make it happen.

I've found the phase switches kinda thins the thick for cleans, good idea you have though. I may do something similiar.
