there was a huge backlash against this guitar on the Fender forums a few months back. Frank Kozik actually registerd and posted a response to the effect of that he sold a whole bunch of designs to fender a few years back, this being one of them.

had a good chuckle at today's stupid deal of the day on MF....I never saw this before...wonder what kind of person would even buy this guitar for $99.

Given the present leadership or lack there of in this country and the discouraging prospects from the other party I find this both appropriate and prophetic.

It was a joke, the part you've quoted is something someone in the Fender Forum thread said, "this design sends a bad message: accept apathy."
I've argued that while this is true (which I don't actually believe) I don't care anymore because of the huge influence this toy acoustic's message has already had on me (which it hasn't actually done... yet).
