Jeeeeeeeez. I love getting photos developed. But scanning and then cropping them is the worst task ever. I did it though.

2 rolls, with roughly 20 scanned in from each - If I feel I have a good shot I sometimes take it twice with a couple of different settings, to make sure I don't miss it. Also got some badly exposed ones as you usually do...:

One roll from the Olympus 35 RC 35mm rangefinder, taken from Thursday - Sunday. All shot manually without a lightmeter - i did get a few bad ones, especially in darker conditions.

And an old roll from my Olympus Trip 35 which has a built in lightmeter, no batteries required. Apparently over time the lightmeters can stop working but mine is ok, it's very accurate actually. They can be used manually anyway, so they will live forever.

I got them developed at Jessops. They are ok. They give me a free roll of film each time so I end up not paying for film which is useful. Some of the prints do have lines on them though, but I could always scan from the negatives if I needed a higher quality print - which I don't lol

All the colours are as they came back, except for the 2 TRIP photos I made black and white.

They are all on my flickr at 1200px wide.

There are some crackers in that lot! good work on the exposures!
The trip produced some great ones too.

Have my 35 rc now, (thinking about the rd now too as it has a faster lense, but also breaks alot) Will hopefully get some shots on thursday.

Do jessops give you free film if you just get the film processed, or do you have to get prints too?

I am strongley thinking about getting my own processing kit to be honest. At the moment I get my bnw done by a friend and my colour done in town. Thinking of just shooting in bnw and doing it all myself.

Here are some digital shots from last night. went to a roddy woomble gig last night with hopes of taking shots but the gig was so quiet I didn't dare have my dslr clicking away! So took some outside instead.

I'm not sure whether it's with the developing or the prints... Though I would assume its with the prints. I like getting them printed though, my scanner can scan negatives but it doesnt do a great job. Also I rarely print digitalh photos out so it's a nice change.

I really like those photos Hurb, especially the one of the people walking away.

Looking forward to some 35 rc snaps too

I got some 120 processed and printed from jessops and didn't get jack shit! so maybe its just with 35.

Hmm, it could also be just with the film I used. I get Fujicolor C200 film. It's not considered a great film, but it works well enough for me and they keep giving them free.

Just checked and it's not even on the jessops site :/

Took the Olympus 35 RC out yesterday it came with a battery so I thought I would test the auto exposure out. wasn't sure how accurate it was being to be honest. Just checked it with my d70 in the house and I had the 400 iso dial slightly in the wrong place I think, moved it and it seems more accurate now.
Only took a few pictures with it as it was reet dark in newcastle. Although took a couple of 20 second exposures in the dark.

Had a slight problem with the winder getting stuck a couple of times. So I am hopeing I havent loaded the film wonky and its all borked in there.

hmmm hope it's ok! It can be tricky to load film in it actually, took me a few attempts the other day to get it to properly catch on the 2nd cog thing.

I did put a battery in mine once but 8 times out of 10 it would go into the red/unable to correctly expose area and stop me taking a shot, even in light conditions which seemed fine to me... So i've gone all manual now with it.

Yeah I hope so eeek! the winder seems to be moving as it should now so I am not sure what was up.

Yeah I was finding it acting like it was darker than it was. But like I say the iso was set wrong.

It is a great small camera though I am so impressed with it.

If you have a costco nearby they do 1 hour processing for colour films for less than Â£2 - that is for negs processed and scanned onto cd. I've used them for the few films I've run through my Nikon F. The quality is better than I've had from anywhere else too.

Checked cosco and I am not sure that my local gateshead store does film processing unfortunatley. Will ring them up at some point. But to be honest I am going to stick to shooting black and white and process it myself.

Glad you like the RC too, it is a great little camera.

I went in Manchester's Town Hall today for the Manchester Design Symposium. Managed to get a few photos whilst there:

Fuji released new firmware for my digital camera (X100) the other day. Some pretty good, useful software updates. Whilst looking through the electronic viewfinder, or the lcd screen, you can zoom in to the focus point to make sure its perfectly in focus. Really good for close up shots and shallow DOF. I love it. Also they have made another of the buttons customizable so you can set the camera up just as you like. Just uploaded it onto my camera and took a few test shots:

new approach to contrast..as in none!

these are both pinholes with 1 minute long exposures. Well done for keeping still emma!

Love experimenting with pinhole photography at the moment.
