Picked this up today,i had to think hard about it as i didnt need another 12 string acoustic ,but i have never seen one locally and it looks cool

its got a few cracks and stuff and the action was terrible, but i shimmed the neck(these had bolt on necks) and cleaned it up and it plays great now.
ill use it as a 6 string for now, neck date is '68 and im not sure about the paint as ive never seen one in black but it looks original.

The pickup is pretty much useless it has no output ,i think it needs a preamp, you have to use a boost pedal or distortion for it to be loud enough and it buzzes.

Nice!
Love the colour scheme, black and gold pickguard reminds me of rickenbackers.

What model is it?

its a fender villager, when i had the neck off i noticed that there were some plugged holes that looked professoinal and under the clear coat?

these necks weren't just leftover electric XII necks were they? mine has 20 frets?

i doubt they were but maybe they just cut one fret off and curvd the end?

Yeh i like the black and gold guard,i still dont know if the paint is original. I mean it looks legit, and around the bridge it all looks right (if it had been repainted you could see a paint line maybe)

could of possibly been a custom order?
the neck does have a 68 neck date, but it also has an actual 68 stamp indented in the neck.

also the pickguard is slightly raised by small pieces of foam,i tried looking at pics on the net but its hard to tell they were all like that.

either way its a cool little guitar

Yeh i think the one on the left is a vintage shenandoh, and the right is a reissue villager.

the shenandoah has 21 frets and normal end on it so im guessing they were using the XII necks for these and the villager but with villager they were getting rid of one fret and making the end concave.
