My friend James wants to sell his guitar, but he isn't sure how much it's worth. It's from the early 90s, American made, and in pretty great condition as you can see:
How much do we reckon he could get?

maybe $500 probably less
strats and tele's (even american ones) have pretty poor resell values due to market saturation.
Guitars:
2014 American Deluxe Stratocaster
2013 Gibson SG 61RI
1998 Paul Reed Smith CE22

According to ebay completed listings for American Standard Telecasters you should be able to get around a maximum £500 if you get some decent photographs, and a well timed auction.
I would say it's most likely to go between £400-£500
Start on Thursday evening, run for 10 days, end on a Sunday evening shortly after payday (26th in most companies)

1) Take Ryanair flight to Finland (Stansted - Tampere)
2) Sell guitar for 1200€ (maybe a little more, maybe a little less)
3) PROFIT!

Mentioned this to a mate of mine in Glasgow- he's never been the same since his '94 tele got nicked. Says he's interested...

Sounds promising, stewart. I'll mention your friend to James and see what he says.

My best friend has an '88 tele. It's a great guitar. I see teles from that era sell for $700-$800.

This is actually a great idea. If you fly at 8 am on a Tuesday, the Ryanair flight will prolly cost about 30 euro.

my mate is a fussy bugger and is already grumbling about rosewood fingerboards being 'spongey', just to warn you.
