that sonic blue on is stunning, if i'd spotted that last year I would of tried very hard to get itstewart wrote:he's got a sonic blue one further down and a cherry red one for £1250.Thomas wrote:I saw a mint scumburst one online last week, same checked binding etc for £1350. Don't sell it. It's a beauty.
Edit: here's the link Coronado II scroll a couple o guitars down.
however, dealer prices aren't street prices, and places on denmark street routinely add 100% on to the actual value of a guitar. if you want to know what something's worth, have a look on vintage and rare, half the price and bob's your uncle.

That's a pretty good point. I'm about to put aside a bit of money but it probably makes more sense to put aside a bit less and keep this for now.louis wrote:if you aren't playing it and are thinking of selling it for the money, Put it in a hardcase with some cilia gel, hide it somewhere safe, and think of it like money in the bank. God knows it will appreciate quicker than if you had the cash.
I hadn't seen that one. Will keep an eye on it.Mike wrote:I presume you're watching this guy
It's pretty similar to yours minus the scratches so you could use that as a ballpark.
I know where you're coming from if you don't play it a heap, but it would probably be silly to sell it unless you actually need to sink that money into something else as equally permanent and enjoyable.
I'm definitely in 'sell to buy' mode as far as gear is concerned. I've a few guitars to sell (other than the Coronado) and was planning on buying something new once that was done though I'm not sure what, yet. If I sell this I'll put the money into something else but I guess unless there's something concrete (or that one on ebay sells for £4k) I'd better off just holding on to it for now. Maybe a sensible plan is to offload the gear that I definitely want to sell, buy something new with the money and see how I feel then.
I still love the guitar, but the majority of time when I pick up something to play it's my bass and I still have hankerings for a Les Paul type.

I'm almost certain you'll regret selling it... unless one of us nabs it and uses it and you can see it being put to good use

keep this and your bass, sell your other guitars, buy a les paul type. sorted!James wrote:I still love the guitar, but the majority of time when I pick up something to play it's my bass and I still have hankerings for a Les Paul type.
i had an unholy thought there involving me owning two coronados, one red, one blue. think i need a lie down.
Went for £1430 + 25 postage.Mike wrote:I presume you're watching this guy
I was thinking that being so pristine it would probably go for about £200 more than mine would sell for, so I guess by that logic the £1200 somebody said earlier was about right.

I want to have the money to buy this from you.

dunno, you might get more than £1200 for it after all. the prices of these have really shot up over the past couple of years, i'm definitely hanging on to mine.James wrote:Went for £1430 + 25 postage.Mike wrote:I presume you're watching this guy

I think I'll wait until I need the money for something else. There's definitely a good bit of variance in the pricing but they do seem to be creeping up as well.Thomas wrote:If you are gonna sell maybe you should do it while there are peeps bidding on them? Coro prices seem to be a lot more varied than most vintage guitars.
