Pawn Shop Mustang trem mod?
Moderated By: mods
It looks perfect with that bridge. Between this thread and h8mtv's I kinda want a Jag-Stang with that bridge now... I bet the JS would sound a million times better string-through as well.

Thanks again for the compliments, hope this encourages those considering a change. I'd find threads with discussion on a new bridge and spacer requirements to compensate for change in height etc, etc. Nobody actually threw one on, you should.
As for that stock bridge, I'm thinking the entire Pawn Shop series shipped with that thing, crazy....
I know, way closer to the Duo Sonic body shape but with string through and new guts. I guess Fender figured the Mustang carries more name recognition, slap any old name on it. They shoulda grown a pair and made it a new model altogether, offered in various sizes and scale lengths. Gimme the "Special" sized like a Jag/JM with a trem option Fender, not the Marauder!serfx wrote:that is a beautiful Fender Pawn Shop Duo Sonic II errr mustang you've got there..
much better then the bridge they come with.
this is how they should have shipped really..

Aside from the drilling new holes into the body to mount the new bridge was there any other mods you had to do to make it fit? Did you have to mod the pickguard at all? Did you basically just line up the string-thru holes with the ones on the body then mount it? I want to do this, but don't want to fuck up the intonation or any other stuff with the guitar. I'm comfortable doing this stuff but not very familiar with how to not fuck up my guitar setup by doing this shit.

I keep thinking about this too. I just wonder, given the extra weight of the Bigsby and the PS Mustang's small body, whether or not the headstock would end up slapping me in the face.I'm still waiting for a floating bridge and a Bigsby B5 mod . I've been combing the used sections get a PS Mustang to maybe get froggy and do one up. In time ..
And so, surely, now, the new record holder for the most screws EVER on a Fender body. I count 29 plus the 12 on the WRs - if we go intonation and grub screws we get to 59. Are there screws on the knobs? And four for the neck, plus strap buttons. So 67.Holy Schnikes wrote:The stock bridge has 3 mounting screws only, located in a line near the rear of the bridge. The Toronado has five, 2 near the rear (perfectly spaced between the original holes) and 3 in front of the saddles.
