If these are real, and there are a lot of people over on OSG calling fake right now, I'd be all over a JM. And probably a Mustang too.

I want to believe...

yeah, maybe the duncan designed pickups?

the original VM strat didn't have anything more than that.

Maybe the OP got confused and these should be CV series? Old school style trem placement, bridge, tuners etc...

not sure. I think most of the VM are made in Indonesia and the classic vibes are made in Fender.

Fender = china?

The VM part could be switching, conceivably. New fangled ways of trying to not switch off your pickups mid-strum.

I will most definitely be picking up a Mustang, maybe even a Jag depending on how much they are. Now we just need a Squier Jagstang.

i don't get the appeal of these.

I understand a Maruader made in china, cause thats unique and appealing.

But a squier mustang? its just exactly like a MIJ Mustang except made in China with similar parts and a retarded truss rod headstock.

Just do a proper Fender Mustang, but make it in China or Indonesia. I have a Squier stratocaster made in indonesia that was 99 bucks. it was so good they should have just put Fender on the headstock to begin with and be done with it. Just make cheaper Fender branded guitars.

those, presumably would be made in China like the new Fenders/Classic Vibes made in China.

so, you're saying you don't like them because they have Squier on the headstock? This (would be) is a proper Mustang just with Squier on the headstock. So, if you don't get the appeal because it says Squier, you can deal w/ it. That's a dumb reason to dismiss the guitar.

thats exactly right. its a proper mustang, so why not just put Fender on the headstock?

Sure its a slightly cheaper price point than a MIJ mustang, but it doesn't look any different to a MIJ mustang or come in colors that you can't get already. its just a mustang thats slightly cheaper. i don't get it.

Because if they put Fender on the headstock they would be at least double the price. A CP Jazzmaster is more than twice the price of a Squier J Mascis Jazzy, I don't think having Fender on the headstock or being made in Mexico justifies that price difference in this example.

why the hell does it matter what is says on the headstock? If they put Squier on it and it saves me 3 bills, I'm all for it.

+1. I dont think he's being anti-squier though.

I'll bet the Squier version of pickups on these three models sound better than their MIJ cousins too. Cant be any worse.

I would be definitely buying one of these if real. The green jaguar is filthy hot.

Ditto Red Mustang.

Fuck I have both those guitars already GAH
