OK. So fix up on this is a go. I am not overly concerned about vintage but I want to get it fixed up, playable, and protected.
Color combinations that go with a gold pickguard?
I'd love shell pink but probably not with a gold pickguard
What options do you guys think?
Also, where do you get aged looking pickup covers from
Also....If a mod can make this a poll for color choice...
Desert Sand
Shell Pink
Coral
CAR
aged white

do you think shell pink with tinted neck/gold guard/aged white covers would work. I can't find any pics like that and I need a visual before I tear apart a 55 year old guitar

I'm pretty sure you can make it a poll if you edit the top post. you just have to type something into the poll info boxes under the 'message body' text.

Oh, Yeah, and I am excited about this project. It's going to be a good one. I think it is going to take a while to get where you want to go, but will be a labour of love.

I like Lake Placid Blue w/ gold but if I had to pick a color I really like fiesta red followed closely behind by shell pink.

I was bound to say shell pink, but it's still the right answer anyhow.

Yes this is the best photo ever. I think that we have established that shell pink is the way forward.

mickie's doesn't have teh rosewoodz so it will look a little different. pastel and candy colors don't go as well with maple necks. I recommend white.

I was wondering about the lighter colors and the maples.
But I am still leaning pink. If not that, than white.
Does Home Depot/Lowes sell anything that would be a good match for Shell pink or do I have to oreder reranch?
I know they sell amber tinted clear.

yeah, that guitar looks ok. doesn't have a gold guard though. and for real, shell pink has to be one of most common custom guitar colors on this board. I don't really get it. but that's just one man's opinion. do whatever blows your hair back, skirt up, etc.

I think we have a new entry to the color wars and at this point, my favorite.
Ice Blue Metallic with gold guard.
