Thurston Mustang Partscaster on San Francisco CL

Post by Dokterrock »

Thought I would share with y'all. If I hadn't already bought two guitars in the last two months, I'd be all over this. But SOMEBODY should buy it.

I like that. I would totally trade my Musicmaster for that.

Damn, sucks to be all the way on the other side of the country! That is way fucking cool and a helluva good deal.

looks nice, but is the neck a mustang neck?

it looks like it could be a jagmaster neck maybe with a stang decal as it looks to have the black truss rod plug, cant really read the headstock though.

although for 300 bucks its still a cool looking guitar

I'd buy it at that price but I live nowhere near the West coast. Although I would un-Thurston it and drop a humbucker in the bridge position.

Yep. Hard to tell what guitar that neck actually came off of but it didn't come off no 'stang.
The headstock shape is wrong for a Jagmaster II, which is the only Jagmaster neck with the correct scale and that style truss rod access.

Seeing as he's the second owner, I doubt it would be a Blacktop/VM Jaguar neck, either. I'm feeling licenced aftermarket, perhaps?

One way or another, at $300, it's nothing i'd loose any sleep over.

I would if there was any way to contact the seller, but since the thing expired, not sure how else to proceed. It would totally be worth getting to play it for a day or two before I shipped it to you. :)
