KC had Earnie dremle the switches down on his mustangs. You can still switch them, but it is more of a challenge to do it by accident.

Solution 1: get a Musicmaster. no switches, no problems.

Solution 2: get something with a 3 way switch or a 5 way switch and play punk a la the Misfits ... I hear unintentional switch knocking at the end of Horror Business and it sounds awesome ... then again it could be intentional.

Solution 3: don't get a new guitar and just control yourself (boring).

all that said ... yeah, tape works.

i sometimes like to strum in wide sweeping circles with heavy emphasis on the up strums. a switch might get switched if i had switches to switch.

I have killed the sound couple of times when I had the Jaguar. And I have turned on the lead circuit couple of times with the Jazzmaster. Mustung hasnt been giged properly yet, but the spacers idea seems great

I replaced my Jaguar selector switches with a 3 way toggle switch. I never accidentally hit the toggle, or the thin switch. I was worried I might hit them, because I did the same on my Musicmaster II, and I do hit that toggle sometimes. Guess I should have located it even more towards the tip of the lower horn.

I never hit the Jaguar rhythm circuit selector switch.
