My Johnny Marr Jaguar (tribute)

Post by Kyle »

Nope, not the real deal

After reading about Marr's Jaguar early last year in Guitarist mag, I decided I wanted the same specs as his on a Jaguar. I rate Marr as an influence, but it wasnt so much I wanted it because it was his, I wanted it because I thought it was genius - the way he has set up his Jag so it is all the good things.

I decided on making this loooong before a signature guitar was ever announced.

So with my MIJ Jaguar, I took everything off, and kept the body, neck, and tuners.

Features I have are:

USA Tremolo and Arm

Mustang Bridge

White PG

USA Pickups

Custom Made 2-switch plate

Custom Made Tele switch plate

All new wiring with CTS pots, vintage wiring, and USA switches.

Very, very pleased at how it came out. Although not an exact copy, thats not what I was going for. Just the features that stood out to me. Although looking at it, there isnt much of a difference. All thats missing is a nitro finish, the contours and neck of Johnnys Jag, and the bareknuckle pickups.

Looking good. How much effort did the custom plates take?
