like always i'm regretting selling my phaser (nano small stone) but I only really liked it on slow sweep, I don't think I ever took it past 11 o'clock and liked it. So which phasers do you think do this sound well?
Also, what is all this about 2 stage, 4 stage, etc?

I'm like you, I only really like slow swirlies. Used to have a big Small Stone which was my favourite despite the volume drop. I then had a Nano Stone and A/B'd it against a script Phase 90 and ended up keeping the MXR. Works for me, I usually have it around 9 or 10 o'clock.

Do you plan to use it on the slow parts?

The EHX Worm has a auto-wah setting that is a really slow phase like sweep. Best effect on that pedal imo.

I like the phaser equally as much as the auto-wah on the EHX Worm. I use the slower settings as well on my larger pedal board.
On my small board, I have the Nano Stone and I echo what others have said previously.

Env filter/auto wah taken care of by the old EHX mini qtron but its not doing it on the slow swirls.
Will take another look at mxr's and the whetstone. Any others?

Auto-wah is a misleading title for the Worm Chris, to my ears it was a really slow and deep Phase.

Back in the day, phasers were designed using Field Effect Transistors as variable resistors in an RC phase shift circuit on the front of an op-amp. Each FET/op-amp stage adds to the amount of shift. I had a Roland AP2 - this has 6 stages.
That's also sort of reflected in the names of the Phase 45 (2 stages) and Phase 90 (4 stages)

I mostly prefer subtlety when it comes to phasing too and for that I generally reach for my PH-1 (4-stage phaser).
If I didn't have that I'd go for any older Small Stone or whatever the cheap Behringer one that rips of the Phase 90 is called.
As a general rule of thumb, the less knobs a phaser has, the better it is.

I've been checking out demos of various Joyo pedals and their phaser looks like a safe bet for the cost. Speed is fairly slow even at 3 o'clock, so it might be something you could use.
