Post by Benmurray85 »

a friend of a friend is selling one of these. wants £65 for it which is nothing really.

he's selling it as a "punk" style amp (whatever that means) which just isnt my thing at all but for 65 sheets whos to argue.

anyone used one?

just thinking of grabbing it as a spare as mine went bust a few weeks back and i was seriously buggered for a few days

cheers cheers cheers!

Carlsbro were made in the next town to me so there have always been a lot of their amps on the local second hand market. The earlier valve stuff like the '50 Top' for instance were quite good but the solid state stuff was very average.
The Stingray was solid state, i'd say it was worth £65 providing it works okay and you prefer to use dirt pedals. It will be heavy as well, check it has the castors on it.

I'd play it and see what it sounds like. The 50 Top I had was awesome, but then it was valve and this isn't.

I had a 100 Top bought locally that was nice but bastard loud and non master volume.

I've never been impressed with the solid state stuff either.
