American Guitars book

Post by westtexasred »

I found this yesterday at Half Price Books. It's great book that was written about 20 years ago. Worth picking up if you have a Half Price Book store near you.

Tons of photos and info I haven't seen in other books like this:

"#61 The one and only Paisley Stratocaster made in the late 70's"

There are chapters with detailed histories of all the major and minor american guitar companies

Is there anything in there about either Magnatone (specifically the Typhoon) or Oahu lap steels?

I've got that book - I got it about 20 years ago actually.

Treat it carefully, the binding isn't all that great, mine has quite a few unstuck pages now.

What's the big Fender Archtop? It looks like it says "Montego" or something.

That's amazing. How come I've never heard of these? Do they ever come up for sale or are they super super rare?

I thought I knew about all the super rare Fenders.
