I've got a Paul Westerberg signature edition first act that I bought out of someone's garage for less than the cost of a nice dinner. It is an awesome rawk monster. The thing about is is that the action is pretty darn high, and messing with the bridge doesn't seem to help. The neck is straight as far as I can tell.
Anyway, I had a bunch of left over random strings that were pretty heavy and I put them on the guitar for the hell of it.
I think the strings on it are something like 56-46-42-30-26-16. All are round wound except for the 16. It's actually super fun to play with these heavy-ass strings.
My question is, long term, am I going to fuck up my (already cheap but nice) guitar by putting such heavy strings on a 25.5 necked guitar?
regular guitar > bass/baritone?

Incidentally, shimming the neck will more than likely sort this out.mastermorya wrote:I've got a Paul Westerberg signature edition first act that I bought out of someone's garage for less than the cost of a nice dinner.
